Saintes is conveniently located for an overnight stay if travelling on the motorway from Bordeaux towards the ferry ports, but you will need a reliable satnav to negotiate roads from the motorway junction to the hotel, as it is a bit “round the houses” to get there! This Ibis is all on one level, though some rooms are at the end of a fairly long corridor. Friendly and helpful staff. However, we have stayed at a number of Ibis hotels over the years, but were surprised at the size and layout of the room. Unfortunately it wasn’t of the size and quality that we have come to expect of the chain. The door for the bathroom was very narrow but also functioned as the door to the bedroom, making access during the night very difficult. We left wondering whether this is a hotel that has been taken over by Ibis, rather than one being purpose built.

Good location for stopover and dog friendly with an area in the bar that we could sit and eat from the main restaurant menu. Food was excellent and the service was also great. Also able to charge my EV car overnight in the car park which was very useful.

Dear ladies and gentleman, Thank you for your email. I have to admit that this was the worst stay in an Ibis hotel ever. I have worked in the industry for over 40years and I never had such bad experiences before and I will make sure that I share this in the internet as soon as I am able to. The room was so small that only 2 people were not able to pass each other. The bed was old and was worn out, the topper didn’t fit and moved, the linnen was clean but smelled disgusting, honestly bed bugs would not surprise me. The room was very small and filled with useless furniture. Although I have to admit that the staff was extremely friendly and the restaurant surprisingly good. Best regards
