Very bad memory from ibis hotel

The location of the hotel is good. But the quality of the room was very very bad in every way that we had to change our hotel and also our opinion on ibis hotels. You don't seem to have any surveillance on hotels under your own name.

subpar compared to other ibis, and surprise hidden cost

Room: bad smell on arrival, pretty weak AC even at maximum, and overall bad choice of colors made our room really inferior to previous ibis experiences, even though the layout is identical. We had specifically chosen your hotel because of previous ibis experience in Brussels, and we were baffled by how the same room could be that inferior. HIDDEN COSTS: During my booking it was mentioned that all city taxes were included and I even got a precise rundown. Left to pay on arrival: zero. But it was not the case and I was made to pay 19 euros of extra taxes. if you tell people they don't have anything to pay and everything has been included, you don't charge them extra on arrival, even if that tax changed. Costs for hotels vary all year long, price for the customer is not supposed to change after booking. We find ourselves backed against the wall, being stuck with nowhere to go if we don't pay. The manager later told me I could just choose not to pay, and when I told him I had already been forced to pay on arrival, I was not offered compensation, even after he clearly conceded. This is an absolutely illegal practice and unworthy of Ibis. I would really appreciate being contacted about this problem.

I am sorry about the extra charge you had to pay at the hotel. Indeed, City taxes have been increased on 1st of January in Paris and Ile de France area. These taxes are independant of hotels rates and must be charged to every customers. The room was unclean, the toilet paper was full of dust and one of the rolls was used before. The curtains were torn. The location is close to a metro station line 13 and supermarkets. Hotel staff at the reception was friendly and warm.
