The value for money is not worth it, we’ve booked 2 rooms as we have weddind to attend, we follow the standard check in time, I am accor member . But then no discounts nor giving us a free breakfast since we paid an expensive rooms. The rooms was not up to the standars, no water, messy and smelly. My parents was lock out from the other room we called the emergency as advised from the number in the telephone on the room. But with no avail it was around 11:30Pm we are so tired from the wedding we attended and we need to wait for the person to open it for about 40 minutes as we need to call them twice The room doesn’t have a free bottled water which is supposed to have. They said it wasa 4 star but it seems 1 star service. I haven’t recieve my reservations booking confirmation not even my booking reciept. I was told my booking was not bf included where infact my friend paid the same amount which they have bf . I will never recommend this hotel to anyone. Poor service and not value for money

No Recognition of Accor Status + Noisy Room

The property did not recognise my Accor Gold status. We were allocated a rubbish room. Wildlife made their way through the pipes into the bathroom and caused us two sleepless nights.

Dear SIN YEE O., Thank you for taking the time to provide a review of your stay at the Mercure Portsea. I am sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations; please allow me to express our sincere apologies. Due to our location adjacent to the national park and in the middle of a golf course, we do experience native wildlife, which is often a source of pleasure for guests by way of seeing native animals such as wallabies and echidnas, in this instance though unfortunately the noise issue experienced we believe was from a cricket. Once we became aware of this issue we did offer a move to another room, which was declined, the sound had stopped during the day, and this was when the consolation of hoping that the sound had stopped was offered. It was not clear to staff that the noise on the first night was a cricket, as again we have had wallabies frequenting around the property of late. As soon as we understood that the sound had started again and was clearly identifiable as a cricket, we promptly provided compensation, a complimentary breakfast and moved you to an upgraded room which was now available. In relation to the Accor benefits, upon arrival you were provided with a welcome drink, which at our site is a bottle of wine. We did inform you that an upgrade was not available on this occasion as we were fully booked, being a 24-room property with the closest Accor property 30 minutes away, an upgrade for the length of your stay was not available at the time. These are the constraints of our property that we are subject to. An upgrade was provided at the time of your room move. I can assure you that the above situation did not result from laziness and it is disappointing that it came across that way as that is not how we intend to operate. I understand the impact that the cricket had on your stay, and efforts were made to remedy the situation with the room move acknowledged in your review, so thank you for this. Again, I am sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations. It is our hope that you will give us another opportunity to better serve you in the near future. Kind Regards, Hotel Operations
