Beautiful and elegant hotel

Beautiful hotel, not old yet steeped in history, it was a pleasure to get to know it and my thanks to the wonderful staff. Food and drinks were excellent also. Well located also, with shopping nearby and transport options all conveniently nearby.

Wonderful stay at Raffles ... such a beautiful place to be.

We had a wonderful stay at Raffles. The staff were so attentive, any problems were sorted quickly (our bath plug would not seal) and the butlers are so lovely! The hotel and grounds are beautiful; pristine, spotless and well cared for. The food is amazing - the Raffles signature pancakes are delightfully fluffy. The doormen know every resident from other visitors and are all lovely and welcoming. I went up to the Long Bar to take some photos and was accosted by a very rude Australian woman who kicked my walking stick as I walked past and berated me for not queuing ... this was the only negative comment I have to make - oh, and please consider lowering the price of the Raffles gin because at Changi airport, its half the price of your shop.

The stay in one of the world’s iconic hotels was spoilt by a few issues. The TV kept losing sound which was rectified by replacing the TV after it had happened three times. Main issue the hotel did not offer Classic Afternoon Tea, it only offered SAKURA Afternoon Tea, which is like going into the Long Bar and asking for a Singapore Sling and being told that they are not serving the world renowned Singapore Sling but only offering a Japanese influenced Sling that replaced the Gin with Nihonshu or Sake. Fine offer different takes but still make the original classic available. Not being able to have a classic Afternoon Tea spoilt to whole experience of my stay a Raffles Singapore.
