Great Service, amazing hospitality

I’ve never experienced hospitality as warm and welcoming as the staff of Sofitel Siem reap showed us. When I made the reservation I Made a mistake and Accor hotels told me there was nothing they could do. My travel agent called the hotel and in about 10 minutes it was all straightened out and Mr Dim couldn’t have been more gracious. Mr Dim arranged our airport transfer and we were met by a lovely young man in a spotless mini van with incredible A/C, cold towels with lemongrass, WiFi in the van and a charging cord. When we arrived we were greeted by staff members outside the hotel and led into the lobby where the check in was completed while I lounged on a sofa drinking lemongrass tea out of a lemongrass straw!( I felt like a celebrity and I’m just an ordinary middle class American). That evening my plans to see Angkor Wat the next day fell through and I met with the concierge who set up a private tour for us the next day in no time. I was so relieved, it was already past 8:00 pm and we needed a tour for 7:00 am. It was seemless. Trust me, set up your tour through the concierge at Sofitel, it was a tiny bit more expensive but it was amazing, We had the same Sofitel minivan and our driver Art and tour guide Ben did an incredible job. Art drove us to all the best spots quickly, had a cooled vehicle ready when we moved to the next temple complete with cold water and cold towels. Our tour guide Ben is licensed by the govt of Cambodia and he knew so much about Angkor Wat, he did a fabulous job and he made it personal. It was a fascinating tour. We loved everything about Cambodia, thank you so much for your hospitality!

Enjoyable stay here when visiting Angor Wat. Has all the services you would expect of a 5 star resort hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was OK, nothing special. Found the pool a welcome relief after a morning sightseeing. If the hotel has any limitations it is the location in that it is a little out of the actual town of Siem Reap, on other hand it is relatively close to Angor Wat.

From the moment we arrived to the day we left we were just amazed at this stunning resort, the restaurants and bars, the golf, the spa, the rooms and the beautiful staff. It just doesn’t get any better than this (except for the heat), obviously not their fault!
