Absolutely the short break we were looking for. Resort is perfectly located to enjoy Hasting St & if you can drag yourself away from the great pool it is just a stroll across to the beach. The whole experience was absolutely first rate, the staff could not have been more courteous, friendly or helpful. Thank you for a great stay.

We had a lovely 3 night stay here. Our room was comfortable, clean and spacious (third floor Deluxe river view room) and the bed was amazingly comfortable. The view down the river from the room was pretty good. The only small negatives were the sofa bed lounge being on the hard side when you sat on it, and the noise outside the room from the cars travelling over the bridge. The weather was wet for a couple of days, so it was a lovely gesture for Sofitel to invite everyone for free drinks and canapés in the lobby one afternoon. We also liked the welcome glass of bubbly, carafes of lemon water by the pool and the cocktail masterclass, which were all free as well. The location of the Sofitel was fantastic; you could walk to the Main Street, beach, National Park and restaurants in a couple of minutes. There was also a food court and small grocer/bakery downstairs which was really helpful too. I would recommend staying here, and would definitely stay here if we came back.

Wonderful location. Lovely pool. Friendly staff. However one at reception, via phone prior to arrival, was very vague, strong accent and sounded as if, trying to find an answer was too hard for her -or couldn't be bothered. All we had wanted to know was if there was 'Foxtel' in our room. She finally said no, and then my husband asked to speak to the Front desk manager, as she took too long to give us an answer. Pretty poor. The house cleaning staff were always friendly but forgetful. For two days no clean teatowel was left. Forgot about a request for an additional box of tissues. Dust was thick under the bed on roller. The deck/and outside table wasn't cleaned, certainly not 5 *. We requested the Australian newspaper for 5 mornings but only received one and had to ring every day for it. Concierge man Ian was excellent. The work on the bridge over the river, which our room overlooked, was loud and workmen had loud music playing, so it was not the peaceful stay we had anticipated it would be. We loved our stay but wouldn't return.
