Hotel is in a great location. Being an Accor member and a regular in Sofitel room was as expected, comfortable and with good amenities. As we were just starting our 5 weeks tour in Colombia, this was our arrival stay after 36hs journey from Australia, we landed at 3.30am therefore I book a transfer with Sofitel for safety and convenience, considering we would be exhausted, which indeed we were, however it was VERY disappointing that they missed my transfer and we were waiting and walking around the airport locations given in our confirmation email for close to one hour, and nobody answer the phone or what’s app number provided in confirmation, the worst is that during our stay they didn’t even do anything about it, mentioned or apologised. Were were also never offered our usual welcome drinks during the stay.

Well Located Near Restaurants & Shopping

A friend who lived in Bogota for a year suggested that we stay in the Zona T (aka Zona Rosa) area of Bogota, which is where the Sofitel is located. The location was perfect and we felt safe walking around at night. There are tons of restaurants, bars, and shopping within 300-400 meters of the hotel. There were so many good restauranes within 150 meters of the hotel. Taxis were permanently stationed outside of the Sofitel and you could just arrange it with the concierge or reception. On our first night, we had jet lag and were awake by 4:00, so we called the front desk to arrange a taxi to Montserrate at 5:00 to take the first furnicular up. Breakfast was lovely and was a buffet with several a la carte options like pancakes, french toast, and eggs to order (including eggs benedict). Service in the restaurant was fantastic. My only complaint is that when I received the email to complete this questionnaire, it was addressed to my husband. The reservation was under my account with only my name tied to it, was paid with my credit card (that is also not tied to my husband), and was sent to my email with my name in the email address. I was also the one who checked in/out and managed everything with the concierge and reception. The only way they had my husband’s name is because they take copies of everyone’s passport at checkin, which I’m sure that’s where they got it from because the email was addressed to his full name including his middle name. It’s very offensive for a hotel to default to a male guest when the wife literally managed 100% of the booking. I’ve been booking our vacations all over the world for 12 years. This is not the first time this has happened and I’m sure it won’t be the last. Whether this is a computer program issue or a human error issue, it needs to be corrected. The world needs to wake-up!

Stayed at two different times during our trip to Colombia. It was a great location with lots of restaurants and shops nearby. The staff was very accommodating, the hotel was well appointed, the rooms were comfortable and quite, and the restaurant was great for the included continental breakfast and dinner as well.
