I think it's the first time I actually have to complain on my Novotel stay and there's been so many (I'm a Gold member). Firstly, we arrived to find out the restaurant's out of service for all the guests - there was no information prior to our arrival. The room service took 30 mins to take the order (they were supposed to call us back to get the order, they haven't for another half an hour); we were restricted to the limited menu despite it was still the restaurant's working hours. Then, since the connecting rooms were not ready (the door between them was still locked), the receptionist came into the room without knocking - she just let herself in. I've never had any employee entering my room without knocking first - this shouldn't have happened. The next morning the cleaning service woke us up by loud banging on the door (before 8am) - despite the fact it was our checkout day.

Dear Karla, Thank you that you stayed with us and for taking the time to tell us about your experience at the Novotel Berlin Am Tiergarten. We greatly appreciate your loyalty to Accor and Novotel. All the more I am sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations. It does not usually happen that we close the entire restaurant, so this was specifically pointed out at check-in. Due to a closed event, it was not possible for other guests to visit the restaurant. We therefore offered free room service during this period. Unfortunately, this took a little longer because all the staff were working at the same time due to the group. I am sorry that we failed to point this out to you extra and also that it was not clear as my collaegue entered your room. They are all sensitised to knock in any case. We will remind our colleagues to always make sure they announce themselves strongly. Please rest assured that we are taking the appropriate measures to address the problem and prevent future occurrence. At Novotel, we strive to provide a superior service experience for every customer; therefore your feedback is very important to us. We appreciate you shared your concerns. Thank you very much again. Great location. Near the zoo and Tiergarten park. Near the main shopping street. Right next to a tube station though you cant hear it through the windows. Breakfast was great. Only issue was the fold out bed was a bit uncomfortable but otherwise perfect.
