Good but disappointed roof terrace being refurbished

Stayed with family in two rooms whilst visiting Barcelona during Easter break. We were upgraded to suite rooms which were large but a bit dated (and dark). Rooms were very quiet despite the central location and service was efficient if slightly unsmiling throughout. It was disappointing that we were not advised in advance that the roof terrace is mostly closed for refurbishment work as this was a big part of our decision in staying at this hotel. There is a small portion still open but with the construction noise it is unusable during the day and cramped at night.

With this price, we didn’t expect to have paper cups in the room. No amenities kits and no face tissue in the bathroom.

This could be a great hotel, but the staff are very poorly trained, literally every question orrequest was not carried through. The restaurant was great with wonderful well priced food. The staff are young and keen, but super green, and dont follow through with a request. It was quite frustrating! I cant recommend this one, i sure many better options in Barcelona!. A one night businessman ! Yep i can see that work, a couple on holidays, nah not this place.

If it was not for the hospitality of the staff and the always good mood and helpful approach it would have been a 1 rating as I could not sleep the entire night. Truth being said, it had never happened and hopefully will not happen again
