Unmet Expectations and Disappointing Service at Fairmont Hotel Nanjing

I recently stayed at the Fairmont Hotel Nanjing, anticipating a luxurious experience synonymous with the Fairmont brand. Unfortunately, my stay was marred by several issues that fell short of the standards I expected. Misleading Property Credit Information: My booking, made through a travel agent, included a promised $100 property credit, a significant factor in choosing this hotel. However, upon arrival, I was informed that half of this credit was exclusively for laundry services, a restriction that was neither communicated nor reasonable. This limitation not only felt deceptive but also greatly diminished the value and utility of the supposed benefit. Subpar Room Maintenance: The room's condition significantly detracted from the overall experience. It felt outdated, and crucially, three out of four electrical outlets were non-functional. In today's digital age, adequate access to power sources is fundamental, and such a basic oversight is both surprising and unacceptable in a hotel of Fairmont's repute. Issues with Complimentary Upgrade: Further adding to my dissatisfaction was the handling of a promised complimentary room upgrade. Despite assurances from my travel advisor, the hotel's front desk stated that an additional fee was required due to the seasonal price increase during the Chinese New Year. This contradicted the very essence of a 'complimentary' upgrade and seemed like a clear breach of agreement, leaving a sour taste regarding the hotel's commitment to guest satisfaction. These experiences collectively marred my stay, overshadowing what could have been a memorable visit. The essence of hospitality lies in transparency, reliability, and genuine care for guest satisfaction. Unfortunately, my experience at Fairmont Hotel Nanjing was a departure from these values. I hope the hotel addresses these concerns to prevent future guests from facing similar disappointments.

This was a brilliant trip. Casey in the gold lounge was super attentive, very kind to our children and made the whole trip very enjoyable. We were celebrating a birthday and all the staff really went out of their way to make it special! Thank you all so much!

Room service is ok , but 33F GYM air conditioner doesn't work very well, swimming pool temperature just around 25 degree instead of normal 27 degree or above .By the way, nice colleague named Ella offer good serice all bad impression all related to bad equipment or hardware which i also mention before in same kind of survey. Pls improve it .
