We stayed here after considering many options and the details of the villa and the service were all superb. The spa is amazing and Charn is an amazing and thoughtful therapist. The restaurant options are all amazing. The views are all spectacular.

Fantastic private pool villas - best family holiday

James H Families - TripAdvisor review

Overall this is without a doubt one of the best hotels/ villas we have stayed in We stayed in the signature double room private pool villa - size was perfect for our family (2 kids 10, 12) The pool depth was just within my daughters reach so was fine (131cm) The facilities, restaurants, staff and all top notch You can use buggies but it’s not far to walk around really 5-10mins you can get anywhere. The main public pool is also great with fun little lazy river and waterfalls. The Bang Tao beach is short walk across the road - there were some jellyfish some days but otherwise a lovely beach If you are active and want to get out around Phuket or even go for walks then Banyan tree is quite a far way from most places. We made friends with a local taxi driver and everyday we went started our days with the amazing buffet breakfast - then a swim in our pool and then our for the day and back for evening swim and then out for dinner and late night swim A couple of suggestions for the pool villas - there is nowhere to hang out swimming wear and towels outside - we took a camping line and put it between two big pot plants. So somewhere to hang swim wear etc would be good (draping on chair can easily blow away in wind) also for families having pool floaties is fun and the hotel provided us a couple and we took one, but due to the heat they need to be pumped up everyday. Hotel doesn’t provide air pumps and took the floaties away and pumped up. Each villa should have an air pump or at least have a number to loan to guests Loved our 6 days at Banyan tree!

First experience of Banyan Tree - v impressed!

My wife and I stayed here for a few days towards the end of our honeymoon. First impressions were very impressive - tranquil but grand. It’s clearly big for golfers. We were helpfully greeted and guided by all staff from check in to check out. We had breakfast included which was incredible, and the complimentary buggy service for the Laguna development is a great idea. Within a short ride or a stroll you can find convenience stores, massages and endless restaurants to cater for all tastes. The villas are beautiful and we got really good sound sleep in wonderful room temperature controlled conditions. The only irk was both the shower and the toilet are designed to be facing the villa garden/pool. This took some getting used to. The lighting, ventilation and the temperature control for these parts are also not as good as the sleeping/living area. Within the resort there are a range of restaurants ranging from ultra fine dining to “nice restaurant vibes”. We paid a visit to the Saffron restaurant to try their set courses which were decent value for money, but understand you may end up having dishes you might not enjoy as much as others. We also had a go with one of their spa treatments and it was a delight. The ladies were very cheerful and clearly knew what they were doing. Backs and shoulders have never felt so knot free and we floated out of the spa in a happy daze. All in all, all the expected amenities for a luxury resort are here. Cleanliness was good, and as we discovered during our time here in Thailand, it seems there is hospitality and then there is the Thai hospitality. Everyone was very friendly and seemed genuine in wanting to help. Highly recommended for a relaxing stay!

Building work alert

TripAdvisor rating 1.0/5

grace2000 TripAdvisor review

We have just returned from a 14 night holiday at this resort. To describe it as disappointing would be an understatement. There is very loud building work taking place 6 days a week between 10.00am and 6.00pm which affects a significant part of the resort (see photo of resort layout). As the resort is fully booked, it was not possible to move rooms. We were unable to use our pool and garden area due to the noise level. I complained to the hotel management who stated that the building work was being undertaken by a 'third party', it had nothing to do with the Banyan Tree so they had no control over it. I later discovered this was untrue (Please refer to photos of sales advert below clearly demonstrating it is Banyan Tree expansion programme on Banyan Tree land). We were not informed of this work prior to travel so were unable to change our plans or postpone travel. We had just two days of peace and quiet out of fourteen. We were bitterly disappointed and frustrated with the Banyan Tree, compounded by the persistent denials of responsibility for the building work. The building work is in the early stages, so the noise is set to continue for quite some time. According to the advert, the condos will be ready for occupation in 2025.
