The rooms are great, but the staff make the difference. Everyone was so helpful, from the guest services, to tour operators and the team assisting at the Cafe in the lobby. Especially Leica assisting with our timely departure as we headed to the airport.

Poor service

I am writing to express my disappointment regarding my recent stay at the Movenpick Hotel Jumeirah Beach. While I had initially looked forward to a pleasant experience, several issues arose during my stay that significantly detracted from my enjoyment. Firstly, upon arrival, I discovered that the shower in my room was broken and had not been fixed properly. Despite reporting the issue to the front desk, it was not resolved in a timely manner, which inconvenienced me throughout my stay. The whole strip on the shower was missing, this caused water to significantly pool in the bathroom, which resulted in my 1 year old daughter slipping and hitting her head on the hard tiles. When I complained to the receptionist, they merely shook it off and said they would sort it, without considering the seriousness of the potential injury that could have been caused. The repair was done poorly, where water still leaked a little. This is not what I expect from a so called 5 star hotel. Furthermore, I found the service at breakfast to be exceptionally slow. It was particularly frustrating to experience delays in simple requests, such as obtaining high chairs for my party. The front of house asked if we wanted high chairs for the babies (which we did) then walked off without arranging any, this happened on a daily occurrence, which made us distressed. Additionally, I noticed that the doorman was often preoccuppied with his phone, neglecting to open the door for guests as expected on the side entrance of the hotel, which we needed to use as the double pram is wide. This was particularly difficult and embarrassing when one of us was on our own to push the pram through, whilst holding the heavy door. Moreover, on the final day of my stay, I was promised breakfast delivery to my room, but it never arrived. This is because check out was early. We relied on this to feed two humgry 18 month olds in a calm and relaxed setting, yet it did not arrive leaving them hungry and upset. This was highly disappointing, as it caused unnecessary inconvenience and disrupted my plans for the day, as well as for two toddlers, who did not eat breakfast, due to your sloppy communication. Your receptionist was rude when we addressed this whilst checking out, telling us we should have called at 5:30 when it should have beeb delivered - I found this insulting that a 5 star hotel cannot communicate with their own staff members and expect the guests to do their jobs. Overall, I had hoped for a more satisfactory experience at Movenpick Hotel Jumeirah Beach, but unfortunately, these issues marred my stay. I trust that you will address these concerns promptly and take appropriate measures to improve the quality of service provided to guests in the future and to compensate me accordingly, as this was an expensive hotel that I booked for luxury, which I did not recieve. What can I say? Great Hotel and perfect service. Joy has gone above and beyond to make sure our stay was the best experience. My dietary restrictions were catered for perfectly by Joy's foresight and preparation. Her experience and professionalism are exemplary. Also thanks to Rita for her attention to detail and the chef for accomading my vegetarianism. Nothing was too much trouble. Also a big shout out for Suresh and Arief for their attention to detail, awareness of guest requirements at the pool, but most of all their good humour and great smiles. The housekeeping team also did a great job. The staff are a credit to this great hotel and deserve recognition. Thanks for a wonderful stay.
