From the moment we arrived at Mount Lofty House, it was clear that this was going to be a truly exceptional stay. Just a short drive from the airport, when we arrived a staff member promptly took charge of our luggage, allowing us to relax immediately upon arrival. The staff member directed us to the reception lounge where we were ushered into comfortable chairs and presented with sparkling wine while filling out the paperwork. While we did this our luggage was transferred to our room without us even realising. Shortly after, a staff member walked us down to our room while giving us a brief tour of the hotel. Our Piccadilly Garden view room was the definition of timeless elegance. I read somewhere the aim of the hotel renovation was to "step back in time but not in style" and they definitely achieved this. The personal touches upon arrival also stand out. We were greeted with a personalised card and the hotel's signature choc chip cookies on our bed. Dining at Hardy's Verandah was a delight. The staff catered to our preferences with ease, ensuring a seamless dining experience. Even when a minor hiccup occurred - they forgot my drink - they fixed it by still providing the drink but removing it from the bill without me even needing to complain. Breakfast was a pleasant, not just because of the food but the phenomenal view. Grab a table by the window if you can! You get a starter, I had the apple compote yoghurt both days and a main. I tried the pancakes and eggs benedict, both lovely. The property's history tour, led by the ever-engaging Chris, provided fascinating insights into the heritage of the house. The complimentary cocktails and house cookies were a delightful bonus on the tour. Make sure to get in as many cocktails as you can on the tour - they go for $25 at the bar! Just an additional shoutout to Chris who was clearly made to work in customer service! It feels like he works 24/7, he is always available and nothing is ever too much trouble. We also loved how guests were free to simply roam around the grounds and into any of the rooms and relax as they pleased - no big rules or restrictions. Plus, they have a butler service accessible via convenient buttons placed throughout all the common areas; wherever you are someone will attend and bring you a drink or whatever you need. Our visit to the underground cellar for a wine tasting experience was a highlight of our stay. Guided by the knowledgeable sommelier, Jake (if I recall correctly), we sampled four exquisite wines from the Barossa Valley. Jake also took the time at the end to recommend some more wines to try from the wine list based off our personal preferences and give a tour of the cellar. The second night we dined at the bar/bistro but I wish we hadn't as otherwise the stay would have been completely perfect. After seating ourselves as the waiter had to rush off, we found ourselves waiting for an extended period without acknowledgment. Though we eventually ordered drinks, they never arrived, prompting us to retrieve them ourselves from the bar. We spoke to the bar man who seemed unbothered. However, he must have passed on the complaint as soon after the manager arrive to speak with us. While the hiccup momentarily disrupted our evening, the swift response from the food and beverage manager who removed of all drink charges for the night, underscored the hotel's commitment to guest satisfaction. If there's one area for improvement, it would be to enhance the Australian wine selection, given the hotel's proximity to renowned wineries and the Barossa Valley. Overall, it's a destination we hope to return to in the future.

Superb location and the attention to detail around welcoming guests and prompt service throughout the entire stay was truly the best I have ever experienced. Genuine smiles and a passion for the history of the house, food and wine. The estate felt so private and the nearby Botanical gardens an absolute must.

Lovely setting & very comfortable & enjoyable stay. Our room was great & breakfast on the following morning was delicious. The view from many of the rooms is spectacular overlooking the Piccadilly Valley.

Prachtig ingericht oud landhuis, met werkelijk subliem uitzicht over de Adelaide Hills. Aardige en hulpvaardige bediening, en heerlijke kamer met prachtig uitzicht, met “room with a view”. Diner kan ofwel met menu in chic restaurant ofwel met kleine kaart in bistro. Ontbijt is uitgebreid, niet als buffet, maar a la carte.

Todoe en este hotel parece hecho a medida par que su estadia sea plcentera y una experiemcoa unica. El personal es excelente y muy amable y te hace sentir un huesped de lujo desde que llegas hasta quete vas. Nos habiamos alojado en Monunt Lofty hace un año pero en la casa principal, este nuevo anexo que se llama Sequoia es un lodge mas lujoso y moderno aun que la casa principal, con vistas unicas y las habitaciones estan hechas para una experiencia unica, con toda la tecnologia disponible y todo domotizado, desde el baño, la cama, las luces, la chimenea, cortinas, tv, musica etc, puedes cambiar todo con solo oprimir un boton casi como la casa de James Bond. El desayuno y la comida es de primera, hay un spa y varias actividades interesantes para hacer. FuImos con un bebe y nos trajeron una cuna y facilitaron todo para hacer de nuest Ra esta dia algo inolvidable. Como miembro de la cadena Sofitel, espero ansioso que nos inviten a la inauguracion oficial el 1 de Agosto. Felicito a los dueños, el personal y los arquitectos.
