« Good alternative »

Nice hotel, rooms and lobby are clean, good location, comfortable bed. Staff were not too friendly, sometimes distracted on the phone, chatting each other. Furthermore, we were refused to have a drink in the room next to the reception, even it was completely empty, we did not behave rude, disordered or noisy, then it does not make sense to have it as "available" if guests cannot use it. Dissapointing.

The night staff was excellent, however the check in staff was not very co-operative, we advised them that they had given us a disabled room and the bed was broken, but they did not do anything. Also paid for 2 guests and room was only equipped for one.

« An oasis of peace. »

The room was spotlessly clean and the cleaning staff were happy and friendly. The breakfast was excellent, plenty of choice and constant replenishing of food and quick preparation of tables. Staff at check in/out were friendly, helpful and accommodating. Although in a busy area, and having many guests, the hotel was incredibly quiet and peaceful.

Great location near to Metro station, Sacre Coeur and many good restaurants. Breakfast is chaotic on the weekends but otherwise good rooms and good service.

« Upgraded to a room with a view »

We booked via Accor website and get a good rate. A few days before our stay, we are reminded to do check in online, which we did. It does help to speed up the process since everything was ready when we arrived. It seems like we are upgraded, because we got assigned privilege floor, with a fantastic view to Eiffel tower, plus several complimentary drinks in the mini bar. It was a nice surprise. The room was clean, and the staff helpful, and the location of the hotel is good. However, it is a pity that they do not provide glass in the room, only disposable glasses from plastic.

« Happiness at the Hotel Mercure Paris Montmartre Sacre-Coeur »

As usual, it is a delight to stay at the Hotel Mercure Paris Montmartre Sacre-Coeur during my visits to Paris. The rooms are clean, beds are comfortable, buffet breakfasts delicious, and staff courteous and friendly. Clichy Metro station about five minutes walk from hotel. Restaurants and shops plentiful and in walking distance. Convenient to Charles de Gaulle airport ( approximately thirty minutes or so away ).

« Fantastic hotel »

We had a privilege room. It had a view on the Eiffel tower. The bar was refilled every time. Clean room. Friendly staff. Fron the reception to the cleaners. The only negative is that the coffee machine did not work well. No hot chocolate.

« The most atrocious customer service I have ever encountered. »

We have stayed at this hotel on several occasions and have previously written praising the staff on these stays. How things have changed!! Your current reception staff are disgraceful: rude, dismissive and spectacularly unhelpful. With one exception (a black gentleman) they all appeared to be unhappy at work. Not once did they smile, greet your guests with any warmth or show courtesy - even to an elderly lady who was seeking assistance. Two of your staff talked over her about her enquiry instead of talking TO her. If they don't want to be at work, this reflects poorly on the hotel management as this is where the tone is set. If the staff don't want to be at work, they should get other jobs. Please note that I do not speak much French but understand more than I can speak. The comments made between two of your staff in response to my concerns when they thought I could not understand were cowardly. If you are going to disparage your guests, at least have the courage to do so to their face and give them an opportunity to respond. I have no words to express how this affected me. The one exception to this attitude was that of the cleaning staff who were cheerful and pleasant. However, I understand that they are under time pressures but still didn't like finding someone's used sock on the floor! As to room facilities, your beds are so hard that I suffered backache and needed to hold on to furniture to allow me to stand up in the morning. When I sought assistance, the response was 'what do you want me to do about it?'. I had requested an additional mattress topper to ease the extreme discomfort and am still waiting for the response!! Disgusting. We have stayed at your hotels on several occasions and have actively sought them out. This stay in Paris was to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary but our experience at your hotel took some of the enjoyment from the occasion. As stated above, we usually actively seek out your hotels and have already pre-booked a stay at your CDG airport hotel on 31 October. Given the extremely unhappy experience at your Sacre Coeur hotel, I wish now that I had chosen another option but hope this stay will be better than the last. I will be pleasantly surprised if it is but am not holding out much hope.

The reception team attitude you describe does not reflect the experience we strive to offer to our guests. The availability and friendliness of our teams are very often cited and valued by our customers on social networks. We hope that you will accept to consider this event as isolated. Of course, our Reception Manager has been informed and will make the necessary arrangements so that this does not happen again. Concerning our room's bed, Dodo mattress topper have been added on all our beds to provide additional comfort. However, I have informed our housekeeper to check in particular the room 822 and make sure the good quality of the mattress. We apologize for all the inconveniences and regret that this experience does not make you want to come to a Mercure hotel. Be assured that all feedbacks from our customers are carefully read and passed on to the department heads and the hotel management. Of course, we are committed to provide a satisfactory and personalized experience to each of our customers and feedbacks like yours allow us to implement the necessary corrective measures. « A 3.5 star experience. »

My stay was less than ideal for a few reasons. - When I checked in I had two reservations I requested be linked. I was told no and that I needed to move rooms the next day. After re-packing and going down to change rooms the front desk told me I didn't have to do that. - The hair dryer was broken in the first room. The second room the wall hair dryer barley produced hot air. It took 3X the average time to dry my hair. - I went to inquire about the cost of breakfast. Instead of being told breakfast was included I was told it was 18 euro. - The scent pumped into the lobby is pungent. I was allergic to the smell and couldn't stay in the lobby without massive sneezing. - The soap in the rooms was too smelly, get something more mild.

« Did not meet expectations »

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights and spent over $500 for the room. The only good thing was the location and that the front desk person "upgraded" us to a less prison-like room which had a nice view. The rooms are old, looks like they were offices or hospital rooms in the past, outdated, uncomfortable beds, no bathroom supplies (shower gel, slippers, etc) it felt more like a hostel stay. The first room we were given was the basic room and had one pillow for each person, the pillow was like a toddler pillow. We were really in shock and decided to talk to the front desk about it since all the reviews raved about this hotel, I really thought I'd be in a 4 star hotel but this was 2 at best. The lobby is decent but deceiving. Overall I would never stay here again, very disappointed about how we wasted our money here.

« The air conditioning is a problem »

I consider the overall hotel quality as fair. It is of course expensive for what it offers, but maybe normal for Paris. Two issues which I recall: * A big one: I could not adjust and could not stop the air conditioning. It is probably set centrally. It blew all the time and it made me sick. * A smaller one: the mini-bar had nothing but one bottle of still water.
