The front desk is very short staffed and barely efficient making the line very long with multiple arrivals & departures. The carpets in the rooms need significant cleaning. In general the building seems to be in need of renovations. There was a spider in the room which disappeared in a crack, which means that pest control is not effective. Guests need to be informed upon arrival that the city does not have a good taxi system and taxis will not be available when they are needed rather than the front desk saying that there is nothing they can do. The excellent breakfast is the best point for the hotel.

Size of the room was okay. There was no AC and the room was very hot and stifling. They gave me a fan, but it did not help. Breakfast is good.

« The hotel is shabby and in desparate need of updating. »

The service at Reception was very welcoming but after that the experience goes gradually downhill. The room I was in was smelly, the carpets were old and worn (I would not have walked on them without slippers on), the walls were dirty and there was no air conditioning. The service at the bar and restaurant varies but mostly I find the staff a little rude and not very customer orientated.

The location is very convenient but I did not sleep good at all since I had no air con in my room. I’ve tried to open the window but I did not get some fresh air but only insects! I spent a very bad night in there. The rooms have to be reworked

I stay with you on a regular basis and although the room is clean some rooms are a little tired looking. There is also no air conditioning which is a nightmare in the warm summers.

I've been in this hotel various times some years ago. I only had a short night this time. The hotel is nice and clean, breakfast very good. There is a pool but the weather was bad and I couldn't try it. Typical Novotel, a bit overpriced maybe.

The room was clean and fine. I couldn't sleep well as the pillow has too high. The buffet breakfast is fine but impossible to get a good expresso, better the breakfast at the bar. I was there already once and my data were not recorded

« The worse experience with Accor »

I’m spending average 150 nights year with the Accor group hotels in the world. The CERGY Novotel is the worse location I had over the last year. 1) no special attention as Platinum member 2) later arrival in the restaurant , 22:15, the only possibility was to get a restricted menu, even if I the lady at the reception told me that the restaurant was open till 22:20 3) breakfast, long row at the coffee machine, not enough cups 4) third evening, I decided to go to the restaurant, the service was slow and the waiter forgot to order my starter. Very chaotic service 6) long waiting time to check out, because of IT/network issues, even if the check out was very early morning 7) mistake on the invoice, his is it possible to get a breakfast on Sunday June 16 when my arrival was arquons 22:00 they day 8) no coffee machine, no drinks in the mini bar. This are the little privileges I expected as Platinum customer. Last time I came to the Novotel Cergy was about 2 years ago, I spend lots of nights in that hotel before.

Pretty poor. We booked the hotel due to it having a swimming pool. It was sold, and advertised as having a pool, yet nowhere actually said the pool would be shut until 3rd of june. We paid what we feel is extra to stay here because of this, but feel we wasted our money. Also, our family room for 4 people started off our stay with 4 bath towels, and by the end of our stay 3 days later there were only 2 bath towels left in the room. My wife used the gym, and informed reception that the water had run out in the gym. 2 days later the empty water bottle hadn't been replaced. We know it was the same bottle as every time we passed the gym on our way in or out my wife checked to see if there was water in the gym for her next workout. The pancake maker broke at breakfast on our first morning, and remained broken. The attention to detail by staff was poor, and this really let down the whole experience of staying at the hotel.

1. Room very warm in summer. Understand difficulty of fitting aircon in this older building, and consequent energy use penalty. Perhaps a pedestal fan could be provided? 2. TV channel guide not working on good quality TV receiver. Had to ask for paper copy at reception.
