« Partly good partly bad »

On the good side I experienced friendly, helpful and well trained staff, the good comfort of a Novotel hotel, nice environment and décor. On the bad side, the fitted carpet in aisle of second floor and in staircase was very dirty. It smelled a mixture of dirt and strong detergent, but the detergent obviously didn't make it. I strongly suggest to replace the carpet. Even a cheap one for 5 Euro per square meter would give a better impression.

« It could easily be so much better. »

During the past 15 years I have stayed at this hotel on many occasions. In general, I like the hotel: its location, the swimming pool, the beautiful garden, the parking facilities, and even the breakfast. BUT what I definitely don't like is the run-down appearance of the hotel. The place is in desperate need of a complete refurbishment. The rooms look very tired; especially the carpets are in a horrible condition, defying all sanitary precautions. The need for a total renovation has been there for all to see for at lest 10 years. All this is a pity. As I have said, the basic ingredients for a nice hotel are all there. I just wonder why this is the only Novotel hotel that is never renovated. It is desperately crying out for it.

It was ok, the room is bit old, but I really love the comics at the reception you can borrow. The only bad thing is the door which was not working properly. I had to go back to the reception to have a new card.

« Nice and quiet hotel »

We stayed at the hotel with a group of colleagues. We wanted to discuss something and to do this, we had to sit at the lobby. I missed a separate room where you can sit together. After returning from dinner I was just in time to order a glass of wine at the bar, but my colleagues who came about 2 minutes later were unlucky and not able to order anything anymore. Maybe it's an idea to place a vending machine with some wine, beer and soda drinks and some snacks so that it's always possible to get a drink or a snack.

The Good: The stay was OK. The rooms are clean, but felt old and are dark - lighting in the rooms could be improved. The hotel is an older hotel which is in need of some improvements to modernize its rooms and interior. Upon checking-in, I was given a room close to the elevators, I requested to have another room, the front desk agent was quite nice and was able to assign me a room that was away from the elevators. The Bad: Knowing that the hotel had a restaurant, I decided I would have dinner at the hotel restaurant on the first evening of my stay - Sunday, 4th March. I decided to order room service, but was told that there were only 4 things available that evening as there was no chef and the kitchen was closed. This was quite disappointing as it is not easy to get around the Valbonne area without a car to find another restaurant with a hot and enjoyable meal. The 4 things available, none were warm meals that were appealing comparing an extensive menu advertised at the entry of the restaurant. If I had known at check-in this would be the case, I would have eaten elsewhere before returning to the hotel and would not have planned to have dinner in the hotel restaurant. For breakfast, a small suggestion would be to for the eggs to already have been boiled and ready for guests to eat rather than having each guest boil his/her own egg - which takes a long time especially when needing to leave early. Overall: Overall, having good wifi, a room to sleep and shower, and a decent breakfast made the stay OK, not my favourite property, but it was reasonable and acceptable.

The hotel is in a good location for business, close to my office. Staff were friendly and professional. I would expect an iron board for more convenient. Also, a GYM is another positive point if available.

« Acceptable hotel, needs to improve bathrooms, room's heating and smell. Personnel and kitchen was excellent. »

The rooms are just ok, I liked beds a lot, the size of the rooms is good, and I really liked the towels and linen. However the bathrooms are not comfortable or easy to use. Baths and showers are a bit old and small. Also heaters in the room were not working ok: After having it running for long time it was not able to bring the temperature to a proper value. It is also noisy if you want to have it running while sleeping. Finally there is a very weird smell in the corridors that sometimes is partially present in the rooms. I noticed this was more intense in upper rooms. However the kitchen is really good and the personnel is excellent. Everyone from reception, kitchen, restaurant, cleaning, etc are really good at their job, and they are always willing to help and give good service. A final and less important recommendation would be to have a transfer service to the different offices and places in the area.

« Comfortable but very basic »

Generally I select the Novatel because of location and not anything else. Its easy but could easily do better. Rooms needs refurbishing as they always smell, carpets are dirty. This time I didn't get a bottle of water on one of the days I was there. Breakfast was poor as eggs were always dry as there are not may in the hotel so I assume they are avoiding waste. Positives are staff are friendly and check in/check out is so easy. Food in the restaurant is good especially the ceaser salad this time which was a fantastic portion.

« Very good Personnel but room is not as good as people »

We are Accor customers from many years and we do not post negative feedbacks in external sites. This hotel is nice, quiet, Personnel is very kind. Maintainance is poor anyway. Our room had broken furniture, dirty internal door, heating badly working and too noisy to be left on on night time so we left it off and got a cold. So 10+ to location and people, 4 to room quality.

The receptionist is the temporary gentleman who only go to work for two nights in one week. He said he is not receptionist, but he has done a very good work. He tried his best to handle my check in and fullfil my additional requirement. I was very satisfied with him. Thank you very mcuh.

« Comfortable stay at Novotel Sophia Antipolis »

The hotel was easy to find . It was clean & reasonably modern , wifi was excellent , staff spoke great English meaning I did not need my very bad French. Food service in the dinning room was nice & quick with menus in English as well as French. The food was well prepared. Unusually for a hotel my room was a little cold first night but the next I found the heating control which fixed the issue. It was frosty outside which I guess is rare in this area. The room was well furnished with a good desk & sofa, I heard no noises from other rooms. Mini moan the complementary coffee/milk/water in the room was not replenished on the first day but was the next. All in all I had great stay & look forward to returning in better weather when I could eat on the patio & swim in the outside pool. Many thanks PWebb

Staff were great and the whole ambience was brilliant for a quiet stay. Good facilities for business travelers. Excellent breakfast and had all the necessities needed for a comfortable stay with easy access to cabs as well.
