« Pleasant, friendly hotel »

Without a satnav, the hotel was difficult to find - not signposted from the main road. The room was comfortable, with a spacious shower. The staff were friendly and helpful; the food was disappointing (my wife's Pad Thai was inedible); nobody came to ask how it was, & no comment was made when her almost untouched plate was taken away. Breakfast was very good, though, especially being able to slice a fresh baguette

« Good location, full service hotel »

An older, but well kept hotel on the outskirt of Chartres, with easy access to the downtown area, and rapid off and on to the freeway. It has a new wing, which is also very convenient. The decor as in most Novotel is modern ( a little too much for my own test). It is a full service Hotel with a Bar and Lounge area, until midnight, A full restaurant and a patio facing the pool in the summer. Also provides 24hr room service, laundry and all regular amenities. No dedicated ironing board, but the pleasant staff can deliver one fairly quickly when you request it. Only one sour note during our stay, Only one person to handle the check out in the morning. This resulted in an undue long delay.

« Lovely hotel with lovely staff »

Really nice. Had dinner in the restaurant. Only issue was that my chicken was undercooked. It was sent back by the waiter and returned undercooked again. Sent back a third time. It didn’t bother me too much and the waiter was very, very good about it and dealt with it suberbly. Nice pool. Lovely clean room. Fantastic pillows!!

Efficient at reception, clean and friendly. Only negative was the breakfast experience, the food was excellent however we had to wait a long time for the hot food to appear and when it did it ran out again before we got chance to get it.

Had a little bother finding the hotel but local signage got us there. Our two rooms were very good, the reception staff were friendly and helpful as were the bar and restaurant staff. Food was very good at both dinner and at breakfast the next morning. We didn't have time to try the pool but it looked very welcoming on such a hot day!

Staff were helpful and friendly as always and room was comfortable and the complimentary bottle of water is always appreciated. The breakfast was excellent as always. Public areas have been done up, but room was basic and lacking facilities - two milk cartons for a family of 4! What really lets this Novotel down however is the restaurant- only a couple of friendly members of staff and really poor menu and portions. The poor couple behind us tried to ask for something in French and were clearly struggling, but the waiter ( who just moments before had spoken to us in English) refused to help them out, even refusing to help when the word the couple were struggling with was tomatoes, which is practically the same in French. When our meals arrived the portions were very small and odd - large amounts of broccoli with what tasted like a supermarket frozen rice/vegetable mix to go with duck?! Very disappointing, although the desserts were an improvement.

All the facilities we required with nice dining area and interesting menu. Only negative point for us was that the room no 222 had a pretty ghastly outlook. Not your fault as someone has to look onto the flat roof and airconditioning units but it did leave what would have been a first rate experience some what lower.
