We felt the lack of infrastructures for kids. There were no kids play area that we usually see and there were no highchair in the breakfast area.

Not good. Renovations in the main areas, a feeling of being hurried to leave my room the following morning (I left at 8.40). Not at all relaxing, after driving for 12 hours from the UK.

The only disappointment is the choice of restaurant menu. We enjoyed a perfectly satisfactory meal but only the side dishes appeared on the printed menu. Fortunately we knew it was possible to go off menu but other guests may not be aware. It really would be beneficial to offer some standard French cuisine rather than international dishes. Why have smoked Irish steak when French entrecote is more authentic.

just one bad point: at 07:45 in the morning, the breakfast buffet was not full, some products missed.And no waiter was there. There was dust everywhere in the hotel because of corridor and entrance hall development work.

« Nice hotel and pleasant position, sad about the workman in the room above at 07.30am »

We arrived on Sunday evening and greeted by a very pleasant young lady on reception. Our room was very nice. Our dinner was good and the waiter very friendly and helpful. We quite understood that renovations were taking place so a certain amount of disruption was expected. However, the workman banging with a hammer on the ceiling from the room above at 07.30 and continuing work until we left was, we felt, unacceptable. Breakfast was excellent and we probably didn't do it justice! A shame about the workman, reception and the head of workman did apologise. Maybe we'll come again later in the year and hope it will be just perfect!!!

We arrived without warning to hotel being totally refurbished. The floor in reception was half laid. The restaurant was closed off and we ate in a meeting room. The bedrooms were mostly closed off and everything smelt of paint. However the young lady on reception did a good job of persuading us that it wasn't as bad as it looked. Having recovered from the shocking first impression we found our room was as normal, so maybe it would be OK. We had travelled 500 miles so didn't want to go out for dinner. I ordered the scrambled egg, ham with truffle. Unfortunately it seems that the chef was also in for refurbishmen, the scrambled egg was nearer to boiled and the sliced ham a mess. Our main courses, steak and Thai prawns were very poor and no where near as nice as we had had at other Novotels. Only my wife's soup was ok. Interestingly the scrambled eggs for breakfast from a large communal urn were perfectly good.
