« new reception system is faulted ! »

The new system of reception has many faults . The lack of a fixed desk or station is confusing to the guests and very inconvienent for the hotel employee , its diffacult for more than one guest at a time to be processed at the same time . Also the young staff at the restarunt was very confussed and offered poor service .

« My group had a mixed stay - partly good, partly disappointing. »

The checking in process was great, really smooth and impressive for our large group. The dinner was really disappointing. We had a dinner for 74 people and I had sent all of the dietary requirements weeks in advance with reminders, but NONE of these were paid attention to. I was sitting next to a guest who couldn't eat goats cheese (and Nadia, the reservations contact at the hotel knew this), but there was no other option for him to eat. I, myself, am a vegetarian, and instead of providing an alternative dish for the vegetarians in our group, the dinner was simply the same meal as the meat-eaters just without the meat. So dinner was simply potato and vegetables. This was very disappointing as the other hotels we stayed in provided alternatives for people with different dietary requirements. Especially because I had provided this information in advance, it was embarrassing that this wasn't catered for. Everything else about the stay was good.

The hotel is an original Novotel that has been extensively modernised. We had a nice evening meal and a leisurely breakfast before heading to spend some time in Normandie on the way to our ferry.

I have never experienced such a fast check in. I arrive at the hotel and the reception desk has been removed. Instead I meet a smile and an employee who is checking me in on the stand. So I got my key in less than a minute after entering the hotel. Sorroundings of the hotel is very inviting for a run around the lake or in the nearby park The breakfast is very good. Good bread, cheeses, eggs, ham and cereals.

The entrance has a great styling to it, although no defined reception area. Room was an ok size, struggle with the pebble dash finish on all the walls in the room and corridors. Breakfast was good, but restaurant menu could do with more choice, particular for infants.

Booked and paid ,Arrived asked for credit card ,Why ,cause we need payment ,and it went downhill from there ,Older lady made us feel that we was telling lies about paying ,thengot that sorted as we had paid ,room352 we t up and room not serviced , backdown made again you must be Lieing no room is not ready ,So givenroom 258 , got there ,found hole indoor , damagedto bed side table area ,no free bottles of water as we was given hard time about payment and room 352 we said to hell just stay ,,, But later I said no water in room why asked 4 times and by morning still got no free drinking water ,Not the way to treat people so wrong in many ways ,the older lady was very off every time we spoke with her ,see need to be people friendly or get rid

We had a very disappointing stay due to extremely poor service on check out by two female members of staff at approximately 10:30am on Saturday 31st August. Both staff members were rude, off-hand and very, very unhelpful. I had a full confirmation email with details of my confirmed booking for dinner, bed and breakfast and showed this to them but they were not interested and simply said it was not their problem or Novotel's and that booking.com often made mistakes and went ahead and charged us for dinner for my children which should have been included in the price - as advertised. They offered no apology and were most unpleasant to deal with. It was a very, very unpleasant end to our stay. We have previously stayed at a Novotel in Toulouse which was excellent and my children had fond memories of the stay and were looking forward to the stay in Le Mans. Unfortunately, the Le Mans branch really let us down. The standard of the dinner was also poor - 'salad' that consisted of browned leaves of gem lettuce and a 'pepper sauce' that was a watery, oily bowl with a few peppercorns at the bottom of it. The pieces of steak were also very small. It was not a dinner you would expect to be served in a four stay hotel. The attitude of the women on check out has put me off ever staying at a Novotel again.

as an overnight stop, it was very good. Great location (getting there) and overall very quiet. Good clean beds, easy check in & out To be honest, the restaurant food (dinner) could be better. I feel the the heart has been ripped out of the hotel. there is no focal point now that there is no reception the is no centre, no welcoming point and no point of focus. with the staff wearing "normal" clothes I was not sure if I was talking to a staff member ( I can't say receptionist as you don't have one now!) or a guest at the hotel. Whoever has thought up this stupid idea obviously has no idea of running a hotel and has no thought of what a guest requires from them.

Beautiful decor to the hotel and the pool and terrace was great after a long drive. Very welcoming checkin but the restaurant and bar were disappointing. Very expensive and poor quality, also some staff were not very focussed or helpful.

Maximizing profits by getting rid of trained staff Is more an F1 hotel than Novotel. Hotel exterior is ugly (tear it down!). Freshly renovated lobby in cozy-homy Zeitgeist ok. But having only very few and not overly trained young staff who are definitely not enough to provide sufficient service at the bar and at breakfast speaks of contempt for customers. If you want to downsize staff and reduce investment, which I have seen across Mercure and Novotel now, then rebrand them as Ibis Budget. It’s more honest.
