« Good hotel but poor restaurant »

We really like the hotel & have stayed there twice before. We had a lovely suite with well appointed bathroom. The hotel’s facilities are good, including Tesla Superchargers & being dog-friendly. However, the bar service was really poor & our meal in the restaurant was very poor. I ordered prawns, which smelled ‘off’ & tasted ‘off’. The dish was returned uneaten. My husband’s pasta was swamped in cheese. We left the restaurant deciding to have a large breakfast the following morning as our dinner was so awful. Our breakfast was eaten at 10am surrounded by staff clearing everything away 30 minutes before breakfast was due to finish. The reception staff were efficient & friendly. However, the restaurant ‘experience’ for dinner & breakfast left us feeling very disappointed.

« Good hotel but Restaurant decidedly lacking »

We’ve stayed here twice before. Hotel facilities are good, including Tesla Super Chargers. Spacious suite, comfortable bed, well appointed ensuite bathroom. Restaurant was previously quite good but the menu was limited. Served large prawns which were off & a pasta dish swamped in cheese. Bad service in the bar too. Breakfast was spent with staff clearing everything away around us 30 minutes before closing. Off putting. Good place to stay while driving across France with helpful reception staff but we’ll find a restaurant elsewhere!

The waterfall where the small gully feeds into the creek is a soothing backdrop to the outside terrace. The walking / running track along the river is close and easy and you can do a 5 km loop quite easily.

« Typical underwhelming Novotel experience »

Stayed at dozens of Novotels over the years and this one was no different to the others. Understaffed, not enough English speaking and over priced. Also not impressed with French only menus in the restaurant. The Spanish, Italian and Dutch customers nearby were not impressed either. Sheer arrogance from Novotel.

« Nice overnight stay, simply check-in/-out experience, breakfast ok, but taste of scrambled eggs was awful »

all in all a very good stay. Very nice staff all over. Room for improvement: - scrambled eggs at breakfast - opening the windows in our room on 5th floor (501) was possible, but due to the location directly above the kitchen not feasible. A bit of a disappointment.

As above, but we will not be staying in Novotels again unless bar service and dinner menu is improved considerably. The steak which we had at dinner was like old boots with no flavour. The breakfast was fine. There was no milk in the room although there was tea & coffee!!

Disappointed with the menu being total in french. The waiter said only french language available. Have been staying at Novotel for many many years and never had this before. When travelling we always stay at two Novotel hotels on subsequent nights and now it seems that all Novotels have the same menu so it means our choice is limited on the second day to that available on the first day. Our next day this time was at Macon Nord and again the exactly the same as at Valence Sud but here they did have an english version. The style of the menu is cumbersome sitting at a table and having to unfold into a large sheet with the various items on the table it is easy knock these over. Considering that many of your guests are non french it has to be stupid to have only a french version of the menu. Or do you only want french people? Your management at accor should think again. Sorry but the whole thing is not to my liking and we will be looking to find alternative hotels.

« Should improve housekeeping »

Lovely hotel in a nice setting. Friendly and professional staff. However, we discovered silly problems when we arrived in the room which should have been noticed before we arrived. The safe was locked and unusable. The free bottle of water in the refrigerator had been half drunk and the shower gel dispenser had left its wall mounting and had fallen into the bath. We also noticed the carpets in the corridors were in desperate need of a vacuum clean. We are not complainers but their seems to be a housekeeping checking failure on our floor

« Great Family Hotel with excellent service »

We stayed one night in two connected room, to host my family of 2 adults and 4 kids. Service was excellent, beginning right from the check in which was easy and well prepared beforehand. Hotel is very kids-friendly with a big playground area right at the entrance providing different toys for different ages. Rooms were spacious, comfortable and clean and had been prepared as we had asked for. Food was also very good, although restaurant staff seemed a little bit "stressed" without any apparent reason. All in all, we were very satisfued and would definitely go back for another stay. A clear recommendation from my side.
