« Friendly staff make the difference »

Not the best hotel in terms of rooms but certainly good value for money. I have stayed at numerous hotels for work but every time I come to Nottingham I stay here because of the people. Jess & Senna at front of desk always helpful and friendly. Lynn - always with a smile and a hello in restaurant area. Little things like remembering my name and previous conversations makes all the difference. These people make all the difference and are a credit to the hotel.

« A very nice stay »

Very comfortable, clean and spacious room. Great advantage having A fridge. Only downside was the lift wasn't working and we had a fair amount of luggage and we were on the first floor.

The hotel was nice, the staff were freindly. The food was lovely. The room was nice, apart from the bed, which was 2 singles put together not even a double mattress, I found it uncomtortable especially as i'm tall and like to spread out

We stayed for one night and our room was very quiet even though the hotel is very near to M1 motorway. Room was clean and fairly new looking in a modern style.

Check in on this occasion was not good, staff member was unfriendly, I asked for a room without an adjoining door, as these rooms are very noisy and you can hear “everything” when I got to my room I had been given an adjoining door, decided I would see how it went but would mention it when I went down for dinner, when I did the person who had checked me in 30-45 minutes earlier denied that they had checked me in even though they were the only person on reception. I stayed in the room that evening and spoke to Jessica the next morning who was happy smiley as always who was apologetic and dealt with my complaint in a very professional manner, she said she would sort it and to talk to reception on my return to the hotel that evening, on my return I didn’t need to ask, as serona (not sure of spelling) mentioned it and sorted me another room again apologetic and professional. The menu has not changed in a long time so I decided to have the chunky beef chilli with smoked bacon, it was tasteless and bland, I had the cheeseboard which was served with ginger nut biscuits ? Never had that before or heard of and for me it’s a no. Breakfast is good, and service is fantastic, Francis make you feel welcome and always has a smile, usually Kathleen is there who also is happy and smiling but unfortunately was on holiday, these 2 together make breakfast a good experience. The only thing that lets breakfast down is the disgusting orange stuff you pass off as orange juice. On the whole I like staying here and have been for 5 years, but I feel some areas need standards lifted.

We had a very nice one-night stay, with a comfortable room and a delicious breakfast. I usually sleep badly in hotel beds, especially the first night, but I had a wonderful night's sleep. Our children also slept very soundly, and enjoyed their breakfast, which is praise indeed from our fussy four year old!

Easy parking, nice welcome at reception. Good clean room on 1st floor. Very quiet considering it is close to the motorway. Evening meal Morrocan Bean Tagine was lovely. Breakfast, good range of choices. Easy checkout.

The rooms are nice and clean. Breakfast buffet is satisfactory. Only downside is the Asian guests which come every day in busloads and are obviously not used to European culture and are at time very noisy even in the night and are a dampening the experience.

Usually stay at the Novotel Nottingham Derby once every six weeks or so. Location is really convenient, parking is good and free, staff are friendly and reception, bar and restaurant are good and rooms are really modern, comfortable, well equipped and quiet, so always get a good night's sleep.

The room was nice and bed was ver comfortable. The carpet was stained and a bit grubby but nothing too offensive. I was woken up on my second night with what could only be described as a fan sound from my room. The air conditioning wasn’t on and can only assume the noise was caused from a room above or adjacent to us. The noise droned on for about 30 minutes. Really liked having the WC separate from the showeroom and the rain fall shower gets a big thumbs up. The staff on checking in were very warm and welcoming, however our room service meal was pretty awful. It came quite quickly but the 2 steak ciabattas were over cooked and was like chewing leather. Not what I needed after an stressful and emotional day. Overall the stay was pleasant and I would stay again but would hope for the areas highlighted to be addressed.
