« Rooms need investment »

All very good with exception of the rooms ad particularly bathrooms which let things down. The staff are all very welcoming and seem to take a real pleasure in their jobs which would suggest good management. The rooms and bathrooms are well over due renovation. Cleaning and maintenance of the bathrooms is shockingly bad, there is no excuse for black mould in grout, a permanently dripping tap or a loose toilet seat even if it is difficult to clean rooms which are very dated. This is not a criticism of the cleaning staff, it shows neglect by management.

« Completely not worth the price. »

My experience was awful- the room was not cleaned well, my sheets had stains (pillowcase had brown stains on it), and it smelled extremely bad. Staff at the restaurant and the front desk were extremely rude, condescending, and unprofessional. I heard them making fun of me (and Americans in general) in French, clearly thinking that I didn't understand the language. Everything was overpriced at the hotel and nothing was near. Room service, however, was good and the staff member professional. Further, I had called to schedule a shuttle to the airport at 5:50am. I was at the lobby in time, checking out has never taken me more than a few minutes at any other hotel. However, the front desk was so slow and took so much time to do everything, that I didn't get officially checked out until 5:58. They told me that the shuttle would be leaving in a few minutes. However, at 6:10, we still hadn't left. Me and another guest were waiting for another shuttle, both of us concerned about missing our flights. I went in and asked how much longer I had to wait, in order to know if I should just walk to the airport in order to make it on time. The staff basically kicked me out, telling me to go wait outside that the shuttle would leave soon. Eventually, they brought up the shuttle and let us get in. After waiting in the shuttle for a while, the other guest got out and went inside to ask about the time because both of us were going to get late. A driver came out after her, saying that he was supposed to wait for 10 more minutes and that someone else was supposed to also be going on the shuttle but that he was going to do us the favor of going now. I got to the airport extremely late and almost missed my flight. I would have significantly preferred to walk. My room was dirty, the staff rude and were laughing at me, the food overpriced, and I almost got late to my plane because of the shuttle and staff not communicating. Additionally, when I got home, I found that I had been charged twice for the deposit on the room and I now have to go through my credit card to dispute the charge. One of the worst experiences I've ever had at a hotel, would have gotten better service and a cleaner room at a budget motel.

After arriving on a cold, somewhat inhospitable flight on Air Canada from the USA, my one-night stay at the Pullman Marseille was just delightful. It started with the quick pick-up by the hotel's bus service and the kind driver, Jacques, who was able to speak English when my French failed me. In just 24 hours, I was able to use this service three times (and also received advice from the drivers) to get me to downtown Marseille and back, to swim in the hotel pool, and to dine in the restaurant the next morning for breakfast. The breakfast buffet was of excellent quality and offered many choices - with fruit, cheese buffet, hot items, and bread and pastries. ALL of the staff were friendly and attentive in a kind way. I was able to thank the assistant and general manager for the exceptional service and they showed me the table in the reception with photos of the employees which permitted guests to leave personalized comments for them if they liked. This hotel's teamwork and "esprit" is exceptional. Bravo! JSJ

Room was clean and comfortable, Diner and breakfast were good. Reception and check out were unsatisfactory: I had to stay at the hotel because my evening flight was canceled. I had received vouchers from AirFrance but they were not accepted by the hotel. When checking in, this did not raise a problem, when checking out (and not having much time) this caused me to have to pay for the hotel and then claim at AF. This is no service to your Customers.

It was a very good experience in general. My room fit my expectations : large bed, bathroom with full bath. Management agreed to put me at the end of a corridor so it was pretty calm and I slept well. No desk to work if needed so I worked on the bed but not a big deal. In a more general way, the hotel is very good : swimming pool, gym center. Intendants are very kind and look for you to be happy. Restaurant does not have many choices but it was very good when I was here. Breakfast is very good too. Nothing to say, I need to come back in Marseille and I will definitively come back to this hotel.

Pleasant! Rooms need updating. Airport transfer at 10pm was awful - we had to wait 30min (after calling 2x) then the shuttle came BUT picked up some crew and left us - after I spoke to him he said he would be back soon. In 5 minutes he returned. The next morning - fantastic - airport shuttle - no wait at all! Also forgot my phone charger in room after check out. Called - they found it - picked up before our departure at reception- super service there!

The hotel is well located (5 minutes shuttle from the airport) & 30 min with the bus to city centre. The building is old. Nevertheless, the rooms are spacey & clean. Bathroom is standard. The restaurant is very nice (but pricey (€ 14 for gin & tonic). The pool is surperb. Fitness centre is small but efficient.
