From start to finish, we loved our stay at the Sofitel Strasbourg Grand Ile. All of the hotel staff were extremely kind and helpful which made our stay wonderful. Breakfast buffet foods were a highlight for us before starting our busy tour days. There had been a glitch with our hotel room rental from another site but the front desk staff took care of us and got us equally perfect accommodations. On our last day our bellhop helped us acquire our ride to the train station and all the while we waited, he chatted with us in English and of course in French with our daughter who is studying abroad in Lyon France for a year to learn French:-)

I like the Sofitel Strasbourg over all. Of course they do have problems like rather old and small rooms (a little renovation especially for the bathrooms might be nice), but overall I had a nice stay. The location is awesome, you can reach all the popular sights easily and you are right in the city center. As it was a public holiday the front desk was very busy, but even the nice lady in the bright pink dress (probably the manager), helped out to make everything smoothly for the guests. Big compliments here! As I already said, the service is nice and thoughtful, the rooms are nice and decent, but they could use some overhaul. As I am a gold member I received a local cake ("Gougelhoupf") in the evening service, which I found a really nice touch (and having a local speciality was really thoughtful), so that really was a lovely surprise. All the other things were lovely upscale Sofitel service, which I appreciate, but also expect for this price and chain. Unfortunately I had one bad experience, which I just wanted to mention very briefly. As a gold member I got a voucher for a welcome drink, which could be redeemed for a glass of champagne, which I found really great, because it was such a nice gesture and great value and also a local French drink, I appreciated that generousness very much. As I wanted to have a small bite to eat with it I ordered the mini-cheeseburgers and prawns in potato crust. Each portion was titled as a tapas and each coast 6 €. After 15 minutes the waiter appreciated for the long waiting time, and said it was coming soon. After 30 mins I told the waiter to please cancel the order because it was getting really annoying. The waiter appologized once again and canceled the order. Right after that another waiter served the food. As I told him I don't really want it anymore he said I wouldn't need to pay it, but he would need to through it away, so I should just enjoy it. As I didn't want it to go to waste I just had the food. I know, you should never complain when you get something for free, but the food was just a bad joke. The mini-cheeseburger were two really tiny bites (probably convenience frozen product) and the prawns were four small ones, not even cooked properly (also convenicence food). As I didn't have to pay for it, I wasn't too angry, but the food quality and size was very poor, especially considering the price. I would suggest Sofitel to put another look into it, because this is rather sad. Overall I liked the hotel, loved the staff's attentiveness (especially the lovely manager in the pink dress), the location is nice, rooms are okay, the bar could use some improvements in terms of price / value and food menu.

The front desk was great! The young lady and bellman were excellent. The breakfast in the lobby was so friendly and we enjoyed it very much. The location was excellent. Strasbourg has become one of our favorite cities in France!

The staff is very efficient and available. The concierge deserves all our congratulations. HE understood perfectly what restaurant we were looking for and booked us a very well situated table in a lovely brasserie. Besides on the morrow, when I was stretching after my morning run outside the hotel, he came with a bottle of water and a smile. Chekin and check out were done in a tic. The bed is one of the world's comfiest.

Overall experience was excellent. Just recommend one additional waiter/waitress at dinner time in the restaurant. It was very full on a Friday evening and service was a bit slow. Also, need a much larger area for breakfast on Saturday morning there was a 15 minute wait and I ended up going outside to eat instead. Suggest the lobby sitting area is turned into an area for breakfast. As it is a buffet style breakfast, this could work well.

Beds were uncomfortable. Food was edible, but not great. Staff was fairly nice. Room Service was very slow. Double the time they estimated. Valet staff was extremely nice and helpful - they are the only exceptional part of the hotel. But the cost of your parking is ridiculous.

As always staff was friendly and helpful and service was good. Prices however are now too high for the quality that the property offers. The room was small and satisfactory furnished, but the air condition did not work. The bathroom much too small with mold on the sealing and a rotten lower end of the door. Parking is an unbelievable 39 Euros a night, unheard of.

I stayed for six nights for a work trip and was disappointed in the experience. Some examples that contributed to this include very slow service at the bar (took over 50 minutes to receive one serve of tapas); having to repeat a request for delivery of an ironing board to the room and inconsistent catering service during our meetings. Most significantly, my room had a very unpleasant odour. When I arrived, a deodorising machine was in use in the room. It was removed later that day, but the odour persisted throughout the stay.
