Liked - Breakfast, Room size, Some staff Didn't like - Location (poor access to public transport), Some of the staff were not as friendly, not everyone could speak English, Smell when you opened the room (like someone's just gone to the toilet - very unpleasant.

The only problem I had was that the bar did not have the food that I wanted either time even though it was on the menu and service was slow. I was happy with the room and was provided with ample gluten free bread at breakfast.

We have stayed at Ibis Paris Porte d'Italie several times before. Last time had been more than a year ago, and our stay this time actually started in a positive vein: Our room and the reception looked renovated, and the breakfast experience was much improved compared with earlier years - everything was to our satisfaction. Then the downturn came on the last day of our stay: We wanted to store our luggage, and were told by the reception to put it in a big meeting room, where there already stood a lot of luggage. When we returned later to pick up our luggage before going to the airport, our luggage was gone! After some confusion they found out that our luggage (including the keys to our home) was on the way to the Netherlands onboard a tour bus. We should never have been told to put our luggage in that room! The end of the story was that we had to take a taxi ride for 260 km to pick up our luggage, that had been found on the bus and deposited at a motorway restaurant. Unbelievably, the taxi managed this ride (to Valenciennes and back to CGD airport) in 2½ hours, and we reached our flight just as they were closing the gate. We had to pay the taxi ourselves, but got compensation from the hotel later. Quite an experience!

« Nice and Conveniently Located Hotel »

This was a nice and pleasant hotel. The staff is very competent and helpful. The bathroom could do with a few cosmetic repairs. The only issue I encountered was the water ran through the toilet as the flush mechanism did not work. That happened once and I managed to fix it. Water went to waste but otherwise everything was OK.

My room was clean, spacious and comfortable bed. The hotter than normal Easter did mean that the room was too hot without the window open as the air conditioning is not turned on until June! So either had the choice of being too hot or noise from the main road nearby. Giving management the option to turn on air conditioning when asked would be a great improvement.

In terms of breakfast, it was a really nice experience. As for double rooms, please get rid of unifying two single bed to create a double bed. It's not comfortable. The room was clean and tidy. You have a luggage room to leave it which is beneficial for a traveller who wants to see the city one more time before his/her departure. That's all.

Hotel was ok not happy that you charged me a debit transaction fee of 8 pounds twice and I havnt had one refunded as you took the payment twice for my stay then refunded one however I got charged the transaction fee twice for this i will tell my friends to think before using your hotels again

The staff was friendly (considering I was English from Australia) the rooms were clean and neat and maintained. The bar / lounge area downstairs was nice and relaxing, good for small groups. Overall satisfied!

« nice people, quite an old hotel »

you have nice people working at your hotel. The hallways are very hot, temperature is around 24degrees. The shower head is broken, the drain of the shower is also shifted and messy. There is no hotel safe in the room, which should be available at a cost of over 100 Euro's

We were in room 345. The bed sloped in to the middle and was uncomfortable. Mould in the shower. Thick dirt tin the seat hinges of the toilet and the toilet was generally stained and dirty. The extractor fan in 5he bathroom didn't work and was thick with clogged in fluff and dust.  The evening food offer when we arrived after a long day travelling was disgusting.

The hotel was amazing! The only thing that was really hard was the public transport! You had to walk pretty far to get to a subway station and at midnight that wasn’t fun. Would say that the hotel coule give some more info about when arriving because we got stuck at 10pm because the parc we had to cross was closed and we didnt know whatto do

This is clearly not a 5 star hotel and one must not expect that, but maybe it is a lack of management, that even considering that there are always little itmes that are unnecessary and distract from a fully positive experince.

Stayed in the hotel several times. I have the feeling its services got progresively worst. - while at the reception, the present smell of the cigarettes was horrible - in the restaurant, the bufet was worst than I ever remember. Starter - very poor choice of food. Main course - food very cold or too dry from standing around. - the room was clean and neat. Yet I had the feeling I had a washing machine working over my head the whole night. The hotel location its very favourable, but I will not be returning back.
