« Poor service not in line with Accor values and branding »

I experienced a very poor service not in line with or values and branding: - I still do not have a correct invoice after 4 calls and help requested from customer service; it was a business trip so for accounting reasons the invoice must be correct; - I did not get the free drink offer when I arrived while I am Gold status and I have the confirmation that the front desk was aware; - I made a complaint on the 2nd because the water was cold in the shower and I received a very inappropriate answer "well on the 12th floor you cannot expect miracles", seriously ? It is the first time I experience such a poor service in a hotel from the Accor group and my Gold status tell you that I am frequently using the hotel chain. A shame !

« poor breakfast »

i arrived earlier, the reception desk people were very nice. I was charged $60 euro based on hotel's policy, while in Sofitel, which is not far away from your hotel, it usually charge $18 euro or free for membership guest early check in. The breakfast is a mess when i went there around 8:30am, almost nothing left, and i was still charged $18 euro. if you go to Sofitel, compare same rate breakfast, Sofitel's one definitely in much high standard. The staff in breakfast room seems pretty relax, leave egg corner unattendant, guests needs to do egg cooking by themselves.

« very nice hotel well located »

Very nice hotel well located, the room are very well furnished, and there is no noise from outside. i got a very nice view of paris. The only thing that should be improved is the breakfast the morning: I have do wait 20 minutes to get a table and I have to take at the bar room instead of the restaurant.

« Great hotel in La Defense business area »

Beautiful view of Monmartre, Eiffel tower. Spacious, spotless and modern rooms. Nice selection of toiletries, different pillows and towels. In addition to a bed, you also have a sofa. Really enjoyed the breakfast buffet with self-served coffee specialties, different breads/ pastries, omelettes etc. Only one minus, the reception was each time very slow, rather long waiting times for check in (despite preferred status).

Pros: front desk staff were lovely and room was a good size. Wifi was easy to access. Location close to metro station is also convenient. Cons: very smelly walkway to lobby entrance, like walking though an ashtray, and ugliest, most unwelcoming lobby I have experienced. Bar ambiance like an airport waiting room, with slow service to top it off. AC in room was finicky at best, did not seem to work all the time. Shower head leaked sporadically, with loud rushes of water. No bathrobes, even though website says there are bathrobes in rooms. Quite expensive for the quality and the location (outside Paris). Room was not available when we arrived (even though it was after check in time)

As I told your colleague at the front desk my night was very bad. There was a loud noise almost every 15 minutes. It was very unsatisfying that your colleague seemd not realy intrested in my complaint. In a nutshell: the stay was a nightmare.

« Not so good this time !!! »

3 causes of insatisfaction: * Arrival 23/09 at 19.30 : "membres Accor" priority queue was closed. Several members waiting for a few minutes until we understood to move to normakl check-in lane. One of the 2 receptionists had a rather sharp answer to one of the guests who asked why priority lane was closed. The same receptionist forgot to give me the voucher for the welcome drink. Not a big fuss for me since it happens quite often and the voucher is given when I ask. But this does not give the best image for your establishment. * Welcome drink at the bar 23/09 about 22.30: I went to the bar where two lady waitresses were talking. I said "bonsoir". No answer until more than one minute passed.... This happens almost every time I come to Novotel La Défense. Even only when there are 2 or 3 other gusts...so not really a busy time. I ordered a glass of red Bordeaux. The wine was too warm and had turned bad (vinegar taste). I left it on the table and went to my room. If I am not mistaken the price is 9 € per glass (I paid with the voucher): this is not normal you do not have the wine in a cooler to maintain its quality.... * Breakfast 25/09 at 06.30: I sat in a table at the back of the room close to the kitchen. An Indian family of 4 persons took a table next to me. They had a light meal and 2 of them did not use the cutlery. Once they had left one waiter came to clean the table. He removed the plates and brushed the table. He did not change the paper sets, kept the same paper napkins and cutlery for 3 of the 4 places. Quite disgusting. Since many guests were starting to come in and I was in a hurry I did not take the time to explain to him how and why he should do.... Quite a few years ago I met MM Dubrule and Pelisson. I think they would have been mad learning this kind of experience.

Experience was good but for a 4-star hotel I was expecting some more quality details like fresh pressed juice in the morning. I also noticed that the baseboards in the toilet were not "straight" and the windows were not clean. In the shower the shower head was leaking water. These are all small details but as said, perhaps my expectations were too high.

The room was clean and comfortable, with a view of the Seine River. The restaurant serves breakfast but no lunch or dinner. The cafe offers limited meal selections. A metro stop is closeby. Bottled water may be purchased from the bar or vending machine.

Good location, but crowded at the time I stayed, with many groups arriving by bus. Room clean, well equipped, though no bathrobe and slippers despite the advert on the website when I booked (without any change despite the fact I asked at the front desk to get them..). There was cleaning work at the room floor, a fact that was not mentioned at the time of reservation, which resulted in inconvenient noise. Breakfast abondant, with nice staff. To summarize, a good location for staying with a travel group, staff at the front desk not enough attentive. I would not recommend it for romantic stay, or even for individuals in business travel.

« Clean and quiet room »

Comfortable hotel and friendly staff. They had a cot for our baby but they had not put it in the room for arrival as requested, that’s only a minor issue as they put it in when we asked again. The toiletries were not refreshed when we checked in, they only put them in the room on day 2 so had a bar of soap and tube of shower gel on first morning. Difficult to get to with a buggy and suitcase as you have to navigate stairs to the walkway but that’s workable if there are two or three of you to help carry them

The restaurant was very mediocre. The first day the Wi Fi was not working and the second day it was very slow. Some of the people at the front desk were friendly and helpful ,others were extremely hostile and uncooperative. Because our flight was at 6 in the morning we wanted to check out the night before but the lady at the front desk refused and we had to check out very early in the morning.

Friendly start. Random room decoration but with a nice view over Paris. Despite the fact that the staff has accepted my wish to place me on a higher floor in a quiet part, the noise of banging doors upstairs/on the floor was quiet inconvenient. Thanks for the good service.

« Not a welcoming experience »

I was talking with a colleague regarding work and asked to sit in the bar for 5 minutes as most of the other space in the lobby was taken up. The Bar Manager was rude and told us that the area was not for sitting and that we would need to buy a drink. We made it clear we would only be staying 5 minutes and therefore did not need a drink, but she made it clear we were unwelcome. Having already paid a significant price for the room in the hotel, it was disappointing to be treated so negatively when the bar was mostly empty anyway. In addition, despite a full taxi rank outside the hotel not a single taxi would take us to our location (about a 7km/20 minute drive). All 6 taxi drivers said they would only take rides to the airport. I don't believe drivers should be allowed to sit outside the hotel for 20-30 minutes and not take rides from hotel guests. It makes the taxi rank pointless. Whilst I know the drivers are not employed by Novotel it still reflects badly on the hotel.
