« Two easy and comfortable nights with good food »

My wife and I spent two nights at this hotel and each one was, in my opinion, faultless, we were tired when we arrived and our check in was easy and painless the restaurant supplied us with good food after which we had a good and peaceful nights sleep.

« Awesome food! »

Comfortable, clean and well priced. However, the hidden gem was the restaurant!! What amazing food. It would have been nice to have Gad the menu in English, and I hate saying that ,but we did struggle as out French isn’t the best, and out waiter, wasn’t that good at English. But, it was let’s see what we’ve actually ordered?? It was fab, especially the desserts!

« Dog Owners, totally satisfied, and relieved! »

After staying at the Rouen Sud Budget Hotel the previous night, we arrived with a certain apprehension. So what a really pleasant surprise, to be greeted by such enthusiastic and very pleasant staff. This is our first trip abroad with our dog and we obviously realised that this could make things awkward with dining arrangements - no problem here though. Superbly dealt with, by allowing us to dine in the bar area.10/10+

The staff at this Hotel couldn't have been more helpful. Obviously we realised that restaurant was a no go, but eating in bar area was perfect. Our first trip away with our dog, and 2nd stopover down to Spanish coast, definitely exceeds our 1st stop at the Rouen budget.

« A friendly comfortable budget hotel »

We were made to feel welcome on arrival and check in was quick and easy. The room size was perfectly adequate for a night or two and the bed was comfortable. There was road noise but the trade off is that you do not have to drive into town. The food options were good as there was an a la carte menu or a less formal variety of hot dishes available. Breakfast was fine with a reasonable options of food.

The rooms were very nice and having a small dog was put on the ground floor which was very handy but being charged 10 Euro I thought was a bit much. Coming through Spain and in the port at Caen was free. The receptionist was not at all helpful when came to eating as was told the only food we could have was on the daily menu. We didn’t find a liking to it and asked if we could have chicken,fries and salad and was told no,due to this we went elsewhere for our meal. Breakfast was very good but customer service poor.

Very nice hotel, clean, fresh sheets, clean bathroom - all good for a short stay. Staff very friendly and welcoming; accommodated without question our request for additional towels. Nicely designed room, small but perfectly formed. With usb docks alongside the bed, excellent. Only negative would be the thinness of the walls, especially with adjoining door,,, could hear everything going on next door,,, I mean ‘everything’...! Have stayed at IBIS before and will do again. Great pit stop on a long journey and excellent value for money.

« A pleasant stay, very comfortable although the room was on the small side. »

Due to a ferry cancellation from Santander we had to hurriedly look for a pet friendly hotel en route to Caen and this fitted the bill nicely. I thought the price was quite a lot higher than other similar establishments and if We had to stay in the area again then for the high charge, we would look for another hotel with a cheaper rate as there are plenty in the area but for our stay we did not have the opportunity to 'shop around' for a pet friendly establishment. Breakfast was very good although the atmosphere in the breakfast area could do with some cheering up i.e. some background music. The lady on reception was very friendly and helpful unlike the elderly gentleman who was on reception when we arrived. We often stay at Ibis hotels whilst en route through France but we shall give Saintes a miss due to the higher then usual charge.

The room was on the small side but clean and beds comfortable. Bathroom again on the small side but again clean. There was only one towel each would have also liked a hand towel. We did consider eating in the restaurant but the a la carte was expensive and the "daily menu" was a bit pricey at 23 euros each and you had to pay an extra 4.50 euros for a small glass of wine. It was not however the price that put us off it was that the food on offer and the only way to describe it was "pretentious" as in nouvelle cuisine. Obviously cannot comment on the food itself which may well have been delicious. We ended up going across the road to the Chinese buffet restaurant. We have stayed previously at the Ibis in Avranches which was vastly superior as to room size etc. The wifi was very good, good enough to stream films etc. We would stay there again as an over night stop.

Stayed one night, the location was good, the room basic, the air conditioning noisy, the room cold in the middle of the night, generally very good. The restaurant was exceptionally good, superb, could not fault the food, would return just for the restaurant, wow.
