« I had higher expectations. »

I missed a few things in the room: slippers, cotton pads and buds, dirty laundry bag, there were not enough tissues in the box. I did receive a pair of slippers on request at the reception desk, though. The staff in the breakfast room looked quite disinterested and the latte macchiato tasted of sweetened milk, no coffee taste at all. Nice fresh fruit and otherwise good breakfast.

The Mercure Hotel is accessible by car with (paid) parking available for your car. The staff was very welcoming and offered helpful information pertaining to sites, supermarkets and practical information about getting around. The hotel is well located within walking distance of the river, key historical sites (i.e. churches, museums) and the old city district. It is also within walking distance of the main rail station and Linzergasse. The room was large, comfortable bed and was extremely clean. The only negative issue we incurred was on the afternoon before the end of our stay, the room's keycard reader malfunctioned. Despite having tried several replacement keycards, the hotel staff was unable to resolve the problem and we consequently had to change rooms. Due to the fact I was travelling with an ill companion, this wasn't the most ideal situation, but this was the only solution as no Emergency assistance was available on a Sunday. Overall, with the exception of having to change rooms, a satisfactory stay.

I stayed in Mercure Salzburg City with family for 4 nights from 9th Apr to 13th Apr 2019. Room size is appropriate and hotel is near and clean. Breakfast was very good. Hotel staffs have been very cooperative and helpful. Overall our stay at the hotel was very comfortable.

The hotel is close to city centre, Salzburg castle and has parking facilities. There are two supermarkets close by so daily supplies are convenient. It is also close to fast food, restaurants and bars.

We were satisfied with our room and the service we received. Staff were great to deal with. Never stayed here before, always at the Mercure Central, but this hotel is just as good. Only complaint was their cost of phone calls; outrageous!!!

Excellent and great value. We were a family of four and had two rooms.Staff were excellent - from check in, to room service/service desk and bar/restaurant. Hotel is close proximity to central rail station (we walked with our luggage), to car hire premises, to cafes, restaurants and city centre and tourist locations.We booked the hotel online from Australia and had no issues at all.

The hotel has a very unpleasant smell in the corridor. Tiny bedroom and tiny bathroom... my knees were almost touching the wall when sitting on the toilet . The rooms were very dark and unwelcoming Noise from water pipes in the ceiling area could be heard all night . The linen quality and pillow was the worst I have encountered on my international travels The manager was rude and unhelpful... obviously trading new staff on the front desk . Our electronic key often didn’t let us into our room so we had to wait in line at front desk to have fixed . Only one staff member at the desk at Amy time . There was no information given when checking in except room number and breakfast . No tourist map of the town available and no warm welcome at the desk . The staff were poorly presented and the chef was wearing blue jeans whilst topping up the breakfast buffet . The food was ok for breakfast We would never return and question how Accor would allow this standard in a so called 4 staff hotel Worst hotel for its price range in our last 4 overseas trips

Check In, was swift and efficient .It was a pleasure to communicate with the reception staff . The room was clean and the housekeeping was always perfect. I liked the location as it was close to the station and to the centre of Salzburg . Hopefully in the future I will come again and experience this wonderful hotel .

Overall was quite good. But only having one chair in the room was a hassle. There are some things that can't be done sitting on a bed. The hotel is a relatively easy walk from the train station and the town centre. The bed was quite comfortable.

After booking this hotel months in advance and checking-in online also, we arrived 15 minutes before the 15:00 hour deadline. Surprise, the room was not yet ready. So we decided to go for a walk about in the wonderful city of Salzburg.Two hours later we were barely acknowledged by the disinterested front desk staff members. We were given our welcome drink voucher and the cheat sheet the front desk staff use for check-in purposes. My first name was misspelt, our membership status wasn't acknowledged, our pre-paid booking was ticked as pre-authorized.As we only stayed for one night we decided to eat at the hotel and found the restaurant very pleasant and especially Larissa Stoltenberg a professional and friendly waitress. Breakfast was good too.While checking-out I asked if the room we were given was the type of room we booked or were we given an upgrade? Instead of an answer I was handed the hotels list of room types for me to find the answer for myself. No surprise, there was no upgrade. I did ask for the Front Desk manager and the managers response was interesting: I am sorry, it should not have happened, etc. Empty words with no meaning.Should you travel to Salzburg remember to book the Mercure Hotel Salzburg Central, just around the corner but as far as service is concerned a whole world apart.

My friends and I stayed in room 139 and 141, downstairs is rubbish collecting are. First Night, I was bitten by mosquitoes, second night bad smell when we open windows, drivers started talking in the early morning 5:00am, too noisy, very bad experience.

This stay was my second time in this residence during my business trip in Salzburg. The hotel has delivered good services with room comfortable. According to the AccorHotels property, there were some issues that the management team should take more time to learn how to deliver the standard treatment for member guest especially for the membership recognition. Generally, a greeting letter as well as advance prepared room should be the first priority preparation to elite Le Club Platinum guest. It would be nice if some of minor welcome amenities such as welcome cookies or fruits were provided in room for elite Platinum guest. I would feel more comfortable if the additional benefits to Platinum guest would be guaranteed such as late check out until 16.00 pm.I do hope that the hotel should continue for serving better services to Le Club Elite guests.

We booked a superior room or something like that. Our original room didn't look as the pictures online. The bathroom was with a plastic drape, which I hate. I went to reception and asked for a room change - I wanted a room with a shower cabin and not a drape. First the employees didn't know what was I talking about, then they said they don't have other superior rooms available and offered to upgrade me to a better one for 20€ per night. I refused as we booked the exact room we wanted and paying more than agreed seemed like a small scam. The employee then agreed to move us to a better room with no charge. The new room was exactly the same as the first room, just with the requested shower cabin instead of a shower with a drape. So at the end we got the exact room we paid for in the beginning, I just don't see why we had to fight for it.

« So disappointed to Austria... Never stay at any Mercure again! »

Only got 2 options of the room type standard / deluxe, we chose the deluxe for staying totally 3 nights by paying €429 in total.We checked in there at about 1800 Friday evening, there were plenty of public parking area right in front of the hotel, the sign writes in German, Mon - Fri 09-18 need to pay, 3 hrs at maxium, since it is written in German, I wanna make sure if we can park there and need not to pay till Monday, so I asked the Front Desk when check in, but both of the staffs said we HAVE to pay and it only allows to park 3 hours at maxium, otherwise there's a penalty! They both strongly suggested us to park at their garage which costs €13 per day, we then hesitated...for our experience, the staffs at hotel should know better than a traveller, so we decided to follow their advice and go get our car to park at their garage, by then, we then met 3 polices outside and they told us it's free till Monday 9am! This hotel gave me a bad image at once, it's not only a money issue, but also a fake information to a traveller. Finally, I only paid €1.7 to park right in front of the hotel for my whole staying instead of paying €52 at their garage!As for my 2nd night staying, the housekeeping didnt refill the toilet paper and shampoo for us, it was only 8:30 pm, I totally phoned 5 times, (3 to housekeeping, 2 to front desk) not until 10:30 pm, the front desk picked up my call FINALLY! I told him my case and he didn't apologize for their forgotten at all but only simply told me "no housekeeping now, will give you tomorrow morning" I asked if they can find me the toilet paper, but again, "no housekeeping now!" ... Very well service indeed! At 1030 next morning, of course, there was no one bring us anything! The irony is, there's a card inside the room says, "... You can call our quality host on duty at anytime by dailing 2424" !!!It costed €420 for 3 nights without breakfast in an early September, such room rate with such unbelievable service, frankly it's really my first time to experience. So much regret to make choice of staying at Mercure hotel, totally ruined my feeling for Salzburg, as well as Austria, too!!We will never choose Mercure again... So disappointed to Austrians..
