Good for one night. Service below expectations. Air conditionning shut down. Internet very slow. Room service though was almost perfect, fast and nice food... cuttelery did not come together with the food. Might return but just because I have a preference for Accor Hotels otherwise would choose another hotel next to the airport.

« The worst Accor experience »

Hello, Accor! I consider myself quite loyal to Accor brand being a platinum member and have seen many of your hotels worldwide. So I can anticipate a certain level of services a priory. This experience will stay in my memories. Starting from its exterior look - an outdated building in the middle of nowhere - till extremely poor room service. I think the Novotel brand was put on it by a mistake. And don`t want even to compare it to Ibis in order not to dilute Ibis brand that is much more attractive in its niche. The old "vintage-to death" carpet in the room brought me back into 1990-s, the soap and shampoo being refilled not daily but every second day (with no conditioner at all). The only tea supply was before my arrival only, so every day its stock was melting - also reminding of difficult crisis days... Porcelain cups or glasses are not known there, and after second day plastic glasses (carefully served on a second-hand paper circles with someone`s tea spots) finished just in time with the above mentioned tea bags... Eindhoven itself was presented to me as a city of innovations, being Philips lighting headquarters and mother town. I wonder how did all that innovation and light edge passed by this modest hotel... Power switches were as outdated as the carpet, no central light that requires room card for example. Even the playground for kids that I saw in the window looked ugly and outdated. So the overall feedback is as follows: this place shall be rebuilt from scratch or repositioned for those who are keen on scary movies of someone`s poor childhood. Don`t make black PR for your brand any more please. Sorry for being so negative this time: usually I liked so much all your places, including Ibis and especially Ibis styles (let alone "real" Novotels) that did not pay much attention to writing good feedback all the time assuming that there is almost nothing to improve... P.S. I would not point personally at the people at Reception as they were very friendly and open, but the overall feeling of the stay is strongly negative. Dear O.K., Thank you for visiting us and taking the time to write your extensive feedback about your stay! I was sorry to read that we did not meet your expectations as a traveller and even more so as a loyal member of LeClub. Even though I was happy to read that my colleagues were friendly to you, I want to apologise to you personally for the errors that were made with regards to replenishing your tea in the room and making sure that everything was clean, fresh and in order. Despite any issues with the building, those things are very much our responsibility and we did not do that correctly. I will be sure to discuss this feedback with my team to make sure we have a renewed focus on this! The innovations that you mention are indeed not visible in the building. We did do several upgrades to systems such as the wifi, but that can not hide the image and style of the building. Our Novotel, and many others in Holland and Belgium, are built in this same style (the 'original' Novotel style) and they are all showing their age despite refurbishments. I am sorry to see that things like the carpets remind you of lesser days, but I will be sure to pass this on to the interior specialist who was in charge of the renewals last year. The most important thing to me is that we were not able to make you remember your stay here in a positive way through our service. The room was nice and clean. I only missed a second door between the entrance room door and the "sleeping room". Due to this you could hear hallway sounds like doors slamming. Not so good. I have had other rooms before which had two doors. Maybe this has changed recently? For the rest just excellent. Diner and breakfast was good. My dog came with me and he also slept very well! :-) It would be nice to put a small bottle of white wine and maybe two beers and two cola's in the mini bar. Most hotels do this. When checking out it is asked what you used from the mini bar. Just a idea.

We had the double doors, but they were giving us some other issues, so in choosing between the two options, we chose the least invasive.. Not the least noisy sadly, but I am glad to see both you and your dog slept well! Almost the same issue came up with the minibar. I am fully confident that you would report any used items from it, but sadly a lot of guests don't.. or replace the wine with something else after drinking it.. In addition to the lower treshold for getting alcohol which is currently a thing, we decided to just offer water. Thanks again for visiting, hope we might see you and your dog again in the future! We were aware that the hotel was off-centre, although we were not aware that it would cost my family of 5, €40 a day in tram day tickets to go/come from centre. However our biggest disappointment was that since we are a family of 5 (including 3 young kids), we asked for adjoining rooms when booking several months ago. We were never given any feedback about this issue. When we checked in we were told the rooms "were round the corner". However on going up we discovered that they were nowhere near each other and were in different corridors. It is not OK to leave 3 young kids in a room on their own in a foreign county, over 50 meters away. Furthermore, the rooms were like a sauna (August) and no air conditioner was available. This is easily missed in booking as nowadays it is taken as standard. When we complained about these two issues, we were offered refurbished rooms that had A/C, but on completely different floors to our children. As this was the only solution offered we had to accept, though my wife and I had to separate for the duration of our stay at Best Western Amsterdam.

One the best Novotel I stayed in Holland. Location is excellent( backyard of hotel, where the pool stands, is surrounded by a small forest) if you do not mind walking 15 minutes to bus station. The only minus is lack of shuttle bus from/to Airport.

Booking is fine on the site, check-in was fine, dinner was fine and service was good. The room clean, and comfortable. The bathroom in the shower large black mold growths on the silicone joints. A testament to the fact that every day a cleaning lady sees the mold but it is not cleaned. That kind of mold is 2-3 months old in the least. Housekeeping does not check that spot either for 3 months. A failure of management. A failure of commitment to ensure quality. Mediocrity has won the day. I report it to reception, who apologizes in a pro forma way, and informs me today all the bathrooms will be checked for the mold issue. As if they were waiting for my comment. I asked for a drive to the airport like I got 3 months ago there, but this time it is refused citing that customers with a special deal get this only. I forgot my necessaire in the bathroom. Nobody bothered to inform me at the Novotel even tough I am in the system ex favorite guest for 20 years..... Small things that show you "quality, service and friendliness" are not priorities at the reception. With kind regards, Robert E. B.

Whether communication, lack of action or responsibility or just a lack of caring, the rooms should be clean and in order as a base. Check was slow, but due to the family in front of me taking a long time to sort things out, but it took two of your staff to deal with them. At dinner the food was good, however my glass of wine was forgotten and when I asked for my Chardonnay I was brought a red wine which was sent back. My dinner was served on a piece of wood so I asked for a plate (Wood holds germs no matter how much you wash it..). the room was comfortable and I slept well. There was a very good choice for breakfast. Check out was fine although they had forgotten that my rate included dinner..

On a whole I was not impressed with the services I received from the Novotel Eindhoven. I travelled with my 5 kids and firstly I was happy with the connecting rooms. I had to go out to the local shops to buy a shower gel. Why should this happen...I asked the reception for one and they informed me someone will bring it. Later they sent someone to inform me they have none at the whole hotel. The person had to guts to tell me I can use a shampoo to bath. Sometimes the cleaners came and they never refilled it. I asked for an iron and for about three hours, and upon calling and calling, no one brought it as promised. I had to go downstairs myself and wait for it to be delivered. I feel this is not right. Thirdly, I booked the hotel reservation at the Novotel website. Upon check in, the receptionist told me she has no idea where I booked my reservation can you believe it. There was an element of tax which is added to the cost of stay after you make your booking bringing up the total cost of the booking. I was made to pay another tax on top of this. I am not happy at all and I feel I have been ripped off. I demand a part refund for this stay or else I have not other option to brand this hotel a no go area. On top of this you had made to pay for parking every night. Some of the front desk staff are not friendly as well. Not sure if they cannot speak or express themselves well or otherwise or they are just not nice. The person who checked me out was however nice to be honest.

I am sorry to be replying so late, but please don't mistake that for a lack of interest in your feedback or experiences. I can fully imagine you are unsatisfied with the experiences during your stay and I am sorry that all of this happened in this way. We want to make all our guests feel at home and clearly we did not. Talking to my colleagues and reading your message it is very clear that there was a significant language barrier in communication. This had an impact on the situation with the amenities (shampoo, shower gel, etc.) but also on agreements such as bringing up an iron. When we promise things like that, we should make it happen as agreed and we did not. I have personally checked your bill and there is nothing on there that is incorrect, double or wrong. Again, communication about this was perhaps slightly off due to the language, but we should have made a better effort at that. The same can be said for the prices of parking, as it could have been easily explained that is a local rule around here and we don't hide it in the room price as some would. All in all I fully acknowledge that you had an unsatisfactory stay with us as we were unable to answer your questions and requests or optimise communications. Though there is nothing wrongly posted on your invoice, please feel free to contact me if there is anything I can do to show you that we are as unhappy with the bad performance as you are.
