« All in all a nice place to stay. »

PROs: Generous and very tasty breakfast, nice and helpfull staff, great location in the canal district, a bit off th emain track, therefore quiet and peaceful. CONs: Bad cleaning service during the stay - the room and bathroom were clean enough when I arrived (although there were dusty spots in places), but the bathroom wasn't thoroughly cleaned during my stay. On the other hand towels were changed even though I deliberately left them on the towel hanger, which should be a sign not to chage them (and thus reduce the impact on the environment).

« Room was great, and the weekend staff very accommodating »

On arrival we were meet by a young gentleman who was very helpful in all aspects of his position- he also continued this during our week stay - nothing was to hard for him and he also assisting with the wheelie walker on occasions and was always willing to assist with a ready smile . The other staff on the weekend were also good but he did shine as far as my friend and I were concerned. We had breakfast on our last day and this was great - the room was very nice also. I thought a little local map of venues to eat would have been helpful - we found that the cafe Bar do were really nice and had a variety of food to suit special diets and were also knowledgeable in this area - it would have helped to give us options as we found a couple of restaurants in the last couple of days of our stay when, we went for a ride on the tram and they were only a very short walk away from the venue.

« Excellent hotel, OUTSTANDING STAFF!! Great location. »

The room and lobby etc. were all very nice. The beds were comfortable. The rooms were clean. The staff were extremely friendly, courteous and always helpful. The location was excellent. We walked around the area very often and it seemed that this hotel was in the middle of it all. The one thing that we were not pleased with was the fact that there was no "free breakfast included" program and 20€ per day per person was very expensive. I paid somewhere around €3700.00 for the 13 nights so, in my opinion, there should be a free breakfast. Every place we stayed at has free breakfast, except for a hotel in Venice, Italy - breakfast was €6. The Mercure in Krakow (by Market Square) had the most incredible breakfast and it was free.

We were happy with the service but disappointed in being placed in a room outside the lift and on the top floor where head space above the bed was restricted and posed a difficulty getting in and out. This was despite being an Accor Plus Member. A 7.00am instead of a 6.30 breakfast meant we had to skip breakfast in order to make our early morning tour.

I had a great stay. The room was spacious and the whole building itself felt very recent. Location of the Hotel was central enough to have most everything nearby but not too central so it's quiet and feels quaint. Special thanks to Megan and the nice breakfast lady (i'm blanking on her name...)

Everything could have been perfect, but it is not pleasant to be woken up at 6am by people talking in the corridor. From the room you can hear everything that is happening in this corridor, the guests who pass by, but also the household staff.

We had a nice stay. My parents room was not so clean though (room 202 I think, mould in the bathroom on the shower floor), ours was much better (229), but there was a strange smell in our room. Please move the garbage containers the night before to the road, you could avoid the extremely loud noise early in the morning!

« Welcoming boutique style hotel »

The hotel has a nice fell to it as soon as you enter and are greeted by stylish decor and smiling staff. Lovely small double rooms with a Dutch style. Delft tiles and similar decorates the wall and wash basin in the bathroom. Decor and furniture adds to a Dutch feel with artwork and a colour scheme of greys black and white, simple and impressive. Every member of staff from cleaners to whoever you met were helpful and pleasant. Quiet location close to museums and public transport.

I've stayed at the Canal District Mecure six or seven times now and it has always been a good experience. The rooms are nice (if a touch noisy) and the staff very pleasant.
