Fabulous, we arrived late at 9pm we were greeted by Abdi who was so friendly and helpful. Our room was lovely and quiet as requested . Breakfast was perfect all the staff were so friendly and professional. Location perfect away from the hustle bustle and we took the bike hire option. I will be doing a great review on TripAdvisor. I am a member of Accor and we do always have a good stay although we came from Cologne and only wish we had stayed with you as we had a dreadful night . Lesson learnt stick to a good brand . The bikes really enhanced our visit and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay with you . Thank you so much

Arrival at Mercure was a little disappointing, finding just One person at a One Desk Reception, no one to help with luggage and no water bottle in the room. This was different from our experience at hotel Shereton in LISBON. However, the next days were wonderful, the Breakfast, the location of the hotel on nearby Canal and Bars / Eateries and the most helpful and friendly staff made our stay worth its while.

I hope to have a pleasant stay in Amsterdam, so I chose to stay in mercure. However, I didn’t receive the expected services. For examples, 1. I did not received any privileges that a silver member should have, though I know a silver status is nothing indeed. (There is only one staff at the reception, so all members or non-members should line up together as one queue. I got my welcoming drinks voucher only when I asked if there was bottle water provided) 2. The worst service I received was: the air-conditioners in my rooms are not functioning. I understanding that in Amsterdam people seldom use AC. Yet, what I want is only circulating air. There are no other air circulating system available! Could not stay in a room for two nights without fresh air, I asked the staff for help, But the reply was something like ‘this is Holland. There are no rooms to change. You can find another hotel if you can. And good luck!’ It was such a ‘cold’ face and bad services I had ever received in accors’ hotels. So I book another hotel immediately (as a loyalty member, I booked ibis style that is close to mercure in ams instead) and I get a room that meet my expectation with even lower room rates. 3. When I check out at the reception, I heard that there was other customer that had the same problem (no air conditioning in room). I suggest it is time for hotel maintenance At mercure Amsterdam canal district. 4. When checking out, I was told that I would be charged for the first night. The staff did not think it was the hotel’s problem. Indeed, I need to spend extra time and effort to change a hotel, with my parents that are aged above 65! I do not deserved to have such experience!!! Although finally the staff agreed that my ‘instant-stay’ would like be charged. It was definitely not a pleasant stay!!! P.s. my booking probably should had included bike rental for 3 ppl, the staffs did not mention about this?!

« Our mini holidays in cozy hotel. »

Me and my boyfriend stayed in hotel for 1 night. Hotel was easy to find. Receptionist was smiling. Unfortunately I forgot check via internet so my reservation was gone. But luckily for us we had a room left. Room itself was clean, nice interior. Mini bar wasn't filled up, but reception solved all nicely. Breakfast room was clean an comfy. The food was tasy and stuff was nice. We will definitely come back. Thanx

Location is very good. It’s both central and silence. Breakfast is great, enough and delicious. Many kind of cheese, jams, olives... Personnels are kind, nice and supportive people. However rooms are small. Especially the rooms at the roof are stuffy. There should be curtains at the windows. It’s so light to sleep. Bathroom is also small. There should be shower cabin instead of curtain.

This is the loudest hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Garbage truck at 7am, suit case on the pebble sone driveway. Every single outside noise can be heard in room. Last night I had to change room as there was guests below me (105) that were screaming for 3 hours straight. Other people in hotel were also complaining on noise from 105

I have stayed at this hotel before. The location is excellent. The staff were very efficient, friendly and welcoming. The bed was very comfortable so I had a very restful sleep. The only concern I had was that the room was very tried and in need of a refurbishment, especially the bathroom and it was very small.

Just about OK. the room booking did not mention that it was a basement room. I has just torn my ACL and was forced to pick bags up and down. besides on the day of check out I had called the reception and spoke to a girl called Anna who confirmed that I could check out later. she asked me by what time would I like to do that. I replied to that 1:30 and she said it would be ok and I stepped out for shopping and then she calls me to inform that I need to chk out by 12:30 I understand their could be gap in communication but 12 and 1 sound distinctly different. anyways your hotel is away from the centre so I don't think I shall repeat my stay
