I wonder if you will ever give me a renovated room. The room You always give me is outdated and at £81 a night expensive especially considering the location ( in the middle of nowhere)

« disappointed »

stayed here regularly over 12 years. this trip was bad! Staff, as always, brilliant. Restaurant now seems to be a separate entity and is awful. Reheated salmon, dodgy house wine which was quite obviously a mix of dregs ...... a watery red served chilled ... a 2 glass carafe and i could not finish one glass. Room, clean but with door to adjoining room ... not soundproof ... sleep did not come easily. Air conditioning fan runs well but no cool air .... opened the window and admitted a horde of hungry insects. a truly awful stay

My experience was negative because of the high humidity of the room. The room was number 431 at -1 garden side. Even the linen were humid and nearly wet. Also when I phones to book the price was higher than on the ibis app. So I stopped driving and book through the app.

Generally OK. As expected on Ibis brand. There are some small parts of cleaning that needed more attention (spiders and spider webs from upper window corners) and some general area that need a repainting (room doors).

We were satisfied on all fronts - the staff were delightful & helpful, the barbecue buffet was excellent value & it was extra special having the fantastic female singer to provide live music. The only negative, one which is always the same at ibis hotels, was the very mean towel provision in the room. Two small towels for two people is not enough.

Wonderful air conditioning in the hotel area, abundant functional breakfast, really friendly staff, they accept dogs for 5Euro, good beds, clean: overall a very good budget hotel 15 minutes from a beautiful city centre with outstanding buildings and a world-historical church triptych.

« Fire alarm inevitable but no communication from staff! »

Stay was ok but we were awoken by fire alarm at approx 12.30 am but staff neither communicates it was a false alarm of what we had to do! They ran to try to sort out alarm! They apparently were checking to see if there was a fire rather than instructing to evacuate!

Hotel itself was okay, but I have a few serious remarks: - the bathroom was not clean: lots of hair from a previous visitor was found in the tub. - a booked twin room was not available at first and only the 3rd offered room was a real twin.

After two coach loads of tourist helped them selfes for breakfast the counter was a shambles. As only one staff was clearing the tables he could not fill up the breakfast bar. In these circumstances I wish I had not booked breakfast.

Having been on the road for most of the day, including spending about two hours in a "bouchon" caused by road work, we finally arrived at Ibis Inthe evening just to find an empty reception. The only person in the vicinity was one in the nearby bar. When asked about a receptionist, she pointed at a group outside the hotel. She made no love to get anyone until asked. I have spent some years of my life in hotels in various countries, but never experienced anything similar. The hotel and restaurant are nowadays to different entities. This being the case the two need to cooperate. We decided that we'd have dinner in the restaurant. Last year it took a lonely cook more than one hour to prepare and serve a decent meal. The absence of staff was obvious. This time we got unwashed cutlery, blamed on the dishwasher. Inspection of cleanliness was missing. The meal, however, was delicious to say the least. A vast improvement on last year. The same can be said for the breakfast. Very good. We recommended one of the dishes to another couple that thourougly enjoyed it.

« Brilliant hotel, let down by dinner service. »

We loved the calm outdoor bar, the easy parking, the very comfortable room and helpful staff. But we were very disappointed with our dinner. We waited and waited.. and waited for our main courses - about 1 hour in all. Much too slow. Staff were very apologetic, but it was clear they were too busy/not properly trained and our order had been forgotten. To make things worse, we were charged for cheese which we cancelled because we had already waited so long for the main course. A poor experience.
