I found the staff unhelpful and not very friendly. The bar staff gave a sarcastic comment when food was ordered at 10:55pm. The drinks ordered were incorrect as the we were not understood. Family room was small

Terrible noise from buiĺding noise - gave my mother a splitting headache and made her feel sick. The cheek of it - when we checked in they said 'We want to be open with our guests - there is building work'. If you want to be open and honest with people warn them about the building work on websites where you advertise, before they have parted with their money.

Check in as usual very efficient with friendly staff. We normally eat in the restaurant but decided to eat in the bar. Unfortunately this was less than enjoyable. A new member of staff was on on duty and in a word was causing chaos. Not putting orders through getting hem wrong and unable to dispense beer. We felt very sorry for the other members of staff who were having to face irritated customers. We know they need to learn but a busy service in the evening was not the ideal time as no-one had time to help her.

« Close to the Airport - but parking is a problem »

Having stayed at Novotels all over the world, I was expecting a high standard - and I was not disappointed. However, because the hotel is ON the airport (just literally across the road from Departures) there is a problem with parking. You can park for 15 minutes (max) to unload and check in (hoping there is not a queue at reception), but parking in the nearest NCP car park is an eye-watering £41 per night! Best plan is to park at the Birmingham International train station, and pop on the cute monorail which takes you (foc) to the airport. We stayed for two nights, and everything else about the hotel was fine.

We stayed overnight before a very early morning flight. All runned very smoothly with easy check-in (done on-line before we arrived). The family room was clean with t.v. to keep the kids occupied, tea and coffee making facilities, iron, safe and clean bathroom with complimentary toiletries. We had a comfortable night's sleep and easy check out in the morning by posting the key card into the box provided at reception.

« Very handy place to stay »

We arrived very late, the receptionist was very helpful and also gave our son some toys, which he loved. The room and breakfast were fine after our flight and just what we needed before driving home. The room itself (room 100) was generally great, although I think the plug in the bath was broken and the shower head/hose needs looking at as it sprays water backwards at the wall.
