« AN EXCELLENT HOTEL »

My friend and I recently spent 4 nights at Ink Hotel in Amsterdam, our second visit to the hotel. It is an excellent hotel, perfectly located, good bar and restaurant, nice rooms. I'm a Platinum member of Accor Hotels, and received an upgrade to a very comfortable Junior Suite. The hotel is an attractive mixture of cool and traditional, with high quality, friendly staff.

We loved the design and amenities of the property. Terrific restaurant and great fresh food was a nice surprise. Lovely room with fun, trendy deisgn and amenities. Good location if one isn’t set on Ben f right in the canal district. The staff was friendly and helpful. The one significant issue from making it a top level stay is the climate control and noise from outside. The room are not air conditioned and we were not aware of this from the booking or website information. Air circulation is minimal and not cooling very much. We needed fresh cooler air with no option but opening the window. This exposed us to a lot of outside noise from the alley and kept us up over the 3 nights we stayed. This was disappointing. Overall the room rates are a bit overpriced for the overall experience given the issue noted. We did tell the reception about the air and noise and they seem to have heard this before but offered no real answers or accommodation. I should have pushed harder for some change of room location or some credit for the rather high cost of a room without being fully satisfied. Overall a mixed review.

Large and comfortable room. Super clean. Great location and wonderful hosts who really enjoy working in the hotel. Min bar stocked with free items for the duration of stay. It's not a traditional hotel because it has a literary, hence INK, theme. Really enjoyed our stay

Recently spent three nights at the Ink Hotel while traveling with husband. We arrived in Amsterdam via Schiphol Airport and took the train into the city. Upon arriving at Central Station we checked and the time to get to the hotel via cab vs walking was the same so we decided to walk. It only took 10 minutes and was easy to find. Check in was easy. We booked a Superior-King Room (room 114). The room was lovely although small. My husband and I each had a carry on and it was a tight fit. If we would have had full size luggage there would not have been much room to walk around. One of the coolest things about our room was the mural on the largest wall. It was a map of Amsterdam with fun facts about different neighborhoods and landmarks. One side of the room had a desk with a built in fridge and a bench to sit on. The other side of the room was an open concept bathroom. Although it was small it had good lighting and lots of mirrors so it seemed bigger. Good size counter for getting ready in the morning. The shower was a good size and had good pressure and hot water. However, I think it needs to be redesigned. No matter how tightly we closed the door it leaked all over the bathroom floor. We were traveling with another couple and they said their shower did the same thing. Also, the toilet has a door but you still have no privacy. One last thing, our room overlooked an alley and every morning very loud delivery trucks drove right past our window (we kept it open). We are early risers so it was fine but you would have to be a sound sleeper to not hear it. The hotel also had a restaurant/bar. We stopped for drinks every night. Bartenders were great but service was not the fast. We mainly stopped here before and after going out because it was easy. Location-there are restaurants up and down the street from this hotel. Around the corner is lots of shopping. We walked all around the city and this was a good starting point.

We loved ALMOST everything about our stay -- the staff was warm and helpful and patient with all our questions. We enjoyed our morning breakfasts and our meals, although service was quite a bit slower than we might have liked. We were always eager to eat and go explore. The rooms are a bit small, which is just fine, but we didn't love the open format bathrooms. Just a personal opinion. The location of the hotel is terrific, right in the heart of everything with a main tram stop just outside the front door. We had a really positive experience. And as a side note, we just simply fell in love with Amsterdam and its people.

Great hotel, lovely ambience and staff that enjoy their job and where they work. Some maintenance can be improved including the fridge that didn’t cool and the shower door that leaked water profusely. Excellent bed, could do with the inclusion of a pillow menu that I would normally expect from an Accor MGallery or Sofitel hotel.

Traveled to Amsterdam after a cruise to Ireland, Normandy, London and Bruge. Lovely hotel , good location , very clean. Nice restaurant in the hotel and many restaurants in the area. Very helpful staff . The hotel is within walking distance of restaurants, shops and not a far walk to canal cruises and the Central Station. Would stay there again.

« A nice enough hotel in a good location. »

We arrived from Australia at about 9am after travelling for about 36 hours. We knew we could not check in that early but hoped a room would be ready. The lady on reception said she would try however, we did not get in until 2:30pm. The only reason I have a problem with that is that others arrived after us and we taken to their room straight away. Also, when we checked out we were not given an invoice and told one would be emailed, still haven't got it.

« A pleasant stay »

The hotel was excellent with helpful and friendly staff for whom nothing was too much trouble. Our daily requests for a tea pot so we could make tea in our room in a pot rather than the small coffee cups provided, probably marked us out as eccentric and English, but it did not seem to matter. The breakfasts and the one evening meal we had were fine and we found the hotel a good place to relax after a hard day sight seeing. - Can one see too many Rembrandts .....?

Staff is great, helpful and attentive. Rooms are clean and inviting. Decor is fun!! Location can't be beat! Fun extras like the chocolate on the pillows, free water bottles and cute tote bag. Only complaint is that AC only comes on when it is a certain degree outside. Opening window helped, but room was a little warm at night. That said, would totally stay here again! Highly recommend!!

« Terrible deluxe rom »

We booked a deluxe room, and we were given the #301 room. The room design is crazy, with very noisy electricity box inside our room and also a very noisy fridge. They asked us to turn the fridge off if it's too noisy, but then all my drinks inside are no longer cold. The noisiest thing is however the electricity box. It is totally impossible to have it inside the room. Very noisy and I got a bad headache out of it.
