Very comfortable stay in a Novotel Suite. Friendly check-in staff, lovely food and wine in the restaurant, secure grounds to walk the dogs. Although not in Beaune centre, this hotel is extremely close to the autoroute and so was perfect for our needs.

Since we stayed several times in this hotel, we always made a reservation in the Junior Suite. On our last stay the room was newly refurnished (6/09) but returning on 28/09 there was an extra service(boy)car placed in the room as decoration!!!!! It does not serve any purpose and takes too much space. We specially like a spacious room, now it was even more filled up. We asked to remove it, but that was not possible. This together with the extra seats, 3 small tables, desk etc. does not make the room any more comfortable.

« A short but enjoyable stay overall. »

The hotel appears to have been upgraded since our last visit. Mostly positive changes, though I would prefer a proper reception desk. The pillars in the restaurant could be a bit intrusive. Food and drink in the restaurant generally pretty good, though the staff seemed a bit under pressure at times. Would prefer proper cups for tea and coffee ( and milk, though restaurant staff were happy to help). Weather was warm enough to use the pool. Beaune is a nice town to visit.

Hotel was nicely refurbished, however i was very surprised to have to pay for a shaving kit. As a long standing client with Accor, i found this not being client minded Breakfast was nice, and the coloured plates very fun. However most plates were not clean and no coffee spoons were made available, points for thougt?

We have been visiting the hotel several times a year for many years with satisfaction. But there is one section which seems to be degrading slowly: the kitchen at dinner time. 1. Being in the hotel early September, we had to queue (19:00) to get a table for dinner, because Novotel does not take reservations and opens the restaurant to people coming from hotels in the vicinity (eg Ibis). No priority for their own customers 2. Once tabled (at 20:00) we had to wait 1h before being served. Other customers were complaining. The service does not follow anymore 3. In the past Novotel offered an elaborate card with a variety of different dishes. Nowadays the offer does not take half a page and the portions get thinner 4. The quality is also melting away. Dishes (chicken, tataki, etc...) were systematically accompanied with a slice of aubergine (so dry that a scalpel would have failed to cut it), a dead carrot (plunged several times in oil) and three miserable potatoes. The bread never came, we had to go and fetch it from the kitchen ourselves... Disappointing experience with the food section especially when one spends 50 € for a bottle of Santenay. In the future, we may have to consider having dinner outside.

Lovely staff made us feel welcome. Convenient for travellers. The new check-in & out system works really well. Convenient carpark. Breakfast was lovely. Room decoration was odd. Wall pictures not appropriate for a bedroom. No shower door so bathroom got very wet. Overall a bit too expensive.

One thing that's particularly nice about staying at this hotel, is the desk-free welcome at reception. The woman who checked us in had an open smile and friendly eyes, as she welcomed us into the hotel. A few clicks on her handheld phone/tablet and we were in the elevator, about to rest our travel weary bodies before dinner. The room was spacious, clean -- a view on to the pool. The bathroom was well-appointed.

Staff friendly and room clean and comfortable. Evening meal was not successful - restaurant was busy and staff seemed unable to manage the numbers. Menu choices limited and the speciality dish I chose consisted of a chicken wing and thigh plus side dish of cauliflower so unappealing colour and overpriced at 18 euros.

Very friendly and helpful staff, comfortable and well equipped rooms, pleasant dining facilities with a decent car park and handy for the A26, plus a simple walk (1.9 kms from the centre of beautiful Beaune). We have tended to stay regularly at more prestigious hotels in the centre on our way to and from the south, but this is a lovely hotel and we will use in future.

« A revitalises hotel »

A revitalised hotel indeed. A full refit inside. Food was was above the standard expected with well chosen wines to match. Excellent location just a few minutes from the autoroute. Novotel are certainly trying to up their game with the boutique style make over. Staff are polite and friendly and coped well with our poor French. The reception staff have very high language skills and are very welcoming. Certainly back on our stop at lost following a steady decline in the standard of the rooms over the last few years.
