« Great Service for Platinum Accor Member »

We got several perks as a Platinum member. We were quite happy with the service. They upgraded our room to a privilege room and they also provided a bottle of Bordeaux wine for free. They have many good facilities like Bike rent, small convenience store and Gymnasium. We also used the free electric car transfer to the nearest train station. The lounge area is also unconventional. The breakfast foods is surprisingly nice. The staff was nice to us and were not pushy when we were late for check out. We really appreciated that. One suggestion for the hotel, it would be even better if the breakfast is included for Platinum members like other Accor Hotels in Australia and South East Asia that we've been too.

Mercure Amsterdam City, selected as we thought it would be an ideal base to use as we visited the city. This was partially successful, the location is fine if you are prepared to spend time and money on trains and buses, a quiet area, with a10 minute walk to the train station. The room was spacious, well set out and with a great view as we were on the 18th floor. The down side was the seemingly casual attitude of the staff, we had to seek out restaurant staff, they didn't come to you, everything seemed vague or they were short staffed, there was a lack of signage around the reception and restaurant areas. In future we would pay a little more to get closer to the city centre.

On arrival the lady on reception was lovely. On reaching my room I kept finding more and more black hairs... on the best, near the sink, on the toilet flush, even on the sanitary disposal bag container on the wall. I eventually gave up and just left them. The bathroom floor had a reasonably big puddle also, where the shower door was left open after cleaning I assume. Not a big deal at all but not ideal either.

I arrived early in the morning and registered at reception.I've been suggested to keep my luggage in the luggage room.The staff was friendly and helpful.To tell the truth,I only slept in the hotel and had a breakfast,that's why I can't tell anything about other facilities,but breakfast was excellent and about 10 o'clock all the guests at the restaurant had been told ,that the breakfast is served till 10 and had been invited to take everything they want from the buffet.I liked it very much. I had some difficulties during shaving.I guess,the light in the bathroom should be stronger.There is a specific mirror for shavimg in the bathroom,but the weak light doesn't allow to use this mirror efficiently.

I am staying from Saturday 6th July 2019 to Thursday 11th July 2019. I am leading a group of other tourists who arrived on Monday 8th July 2019. My intention is to utilise your hotel twice per year, every year, going forward - for bringing my tourists group to the Northsea Jazz Festival with a 4 day stop over in Amsterdam. The second group for a 3 country 8 days tour ( Netherlands, Germany and Belgium) also using Amsterdam as our Base. Your hotel is meeting some of my expectations though much improvement still needs to be invested in. That can be a subject for a face to face meeting. This must be one the better Mercure hotels. Great location, with the Metro station and night bus stop just down the road you can get everywhere. We had a really good time! The hotel was excellent, at a great location. Check-in and Check-Out was done in seconds! Room was ready upon our arrival, I nice upgrade privilege room on the top floors with a view of the canal, Cozy, decorated in style as well as the rest areas of he hotel.Front Desk receptionists are very polite, eager to help and explain everything, always with a big smile! The room was spotless! I do appreciate the hotels environmental program. Great idea. You really don't need your room serviced daily. Breakfast buffet was well organized, served in a pleasant area. Good variety of offerings! We enjoyed our stay and we are looking forward to come again soon. Excellent value for money.

Everything was perfect until I came down with my colleagues to have breakfast and the lady at the entrance didn’t let us in until the front desk officer explained her that we all have pre paid vouchers for the rooms with breakfast included. She had an attitude problem! She let us in because she got nervous and there was a lane forming saying ok get in; like she did us a favor not because we actually payed for our breakfast.. not ok!

I book the Mercure, as I really trust accorhotels brand (I am a silver member) and aslo because it was ideally located for a sport event I registered close by. Room was great, breakfast is awesome. I really recommend this hotel. THey have a nice terrace close to the canal.

The staff was really nice and the rooms clean and very comfortable. The hotel has many services such as spa or gym, which both where also good. However, it is bit far from the centre, but the metro is close.

The guest experience is great, staff at front desk are quite helpful. The location is a bit outside the city centre and need to take tram for sightseeing. Nice quiet neighborhood with nice restaurant and supermakert.

« Great position in regards to the centre of Amsterdam »

The hotel room was great. However I needed my room key re issued (room was booked in 2 different bookings). It was about 9pm at night and i literally stood in line for half an hour as the two assistants were dealing with two customers. I could not go to my room as I was locked out. Another assistant came out but said he could not assist with my problem. After a long day/night out I was very disappointed with the length of time I had to wait.

Great hotel, beautiful and elegant amenities, nice flair, friendly and open staff, luxury food and drinks. Had a great time chilling at the outdoor terrace next to a waterway. Was also grateful for their 24h snack shop.

I arrived 2 hours before check-in time and was attended to immediately by friendly staff. The hotel room was perfect, clean, cool and all in working order. Breakfast was 5 stars. I really enjoyed the coffee, all the fresh juices and overall atmosphere of the breakfast room. All staff were friendly and the MOD, an African American gentleman ran the operation with purpose and confidence. Unfortunately, I didn't get his name, but he is obviously an asset to the Mercure group. I loved my stay at Mercure, I will definitely be back if I ever visit Amsterday again.

Our experience was average we had to wait for our room for 4 hours... the front desk forgot about us and the cleaners never did our room so we changed rooms. Our room was only needed to sleep in but was a very dated room compared to the ground floor, which would have been nicer with a room that looked cared about.
