I was very pleased with my first stay in Sofitel Luxembourg. I had other experiences with this Accor member in the past in different countries, and this hotel id definitely up to the very high standard they aim for. The room is clean, luxurious, and the bed is unbelievably comfortable. The dinner was great, the steak is perfectly cooked, and the risotto with foie gras and black truffle is amazing. The check in/out process was as smooth as possible, no hassle, so my friend and I were really enjoying our stay.

« Nice hotel, under renovation outside »

The room and amenities were nice, but the hotel was difficult to find, and we had to pay to self-park since there was no valet. Also, the construction made it very difficult to get to the hotel and we had to carry our heavy bags much farther than anticipated. When we arrived, only two staff members were present, and the concierge was also serving as the bell and the valet, which is not what we expect at a 5* hotel. The in-room comfort was exceptional. Restaurant was good, but far overpriced for what we received. Service was slow and scattered. Overall, maybe a 3.5/5 star hotel experience.

« I was bumped from my reservation without any prior notice »

I arrived at the Grand Ducal to be told I had no room (even though I had a confirmed reservation). I was not contacted to inform me of this so I ended up getting a taxi to the Grand Ducal. I was transferred to the other Sofitel which was very nice (and taxis) were paid for but I was not impressed with the experience at all. It did not make me feel like a a valued customer and this also happened to one of my colleagues on this trip

From initial greeting to goodbye, the staff could not have been more friendly, welcoming or helpful. The rooms were immaculately presented and the beds supremely comfortable. The only downside was the rather bizarre decision to allow a seminar to be held in the foyer one evening. The music and presentations reverberated through the bedrooms and you felt unwelcome in t(e hotel when walking past. If I’d have known this seminar was on, I would no5 have stayed here.

Dear Sir, I hope this feedback will find someone. The room and setup was nice, thanks a lot. But on Saturday around 10h40, a room service knocked twice then used his card to enter without notice. My friend was in the bathroom and she was really scared to see someone behind her back. The guy told me that he wanted to get the breakfast chariot without excuses. We just finished the breakfast like 5 minutes ago ! Is there a timer or something ?! We are really shocked about what happened. It's not tolerable and really rude for the guests. Dear Sofitel, Me and my husband, we are still two university students now, so we dont have enough money to pay for the standard price for this hotel, but we found the deal price and then we start the magic travel. Even we paid a low price we still have the honeymoon suite and perfect service, also this experience made me and my boyfriend feel very good to this brand. This experience totally changed our opinion to travel, we decide when we have a job after graduate, we will always choose this brand and this class hotel, a good hotel could make the whole travel romantic and joyful. Staff is friendly and breakfast is very good. However, the temperature was set to 19 in the room and it was impossible to change it. Moreover, although the hotel is for business travelers it was impossible to print a document because PC was not connected to the printer.
