« Reasonable inexpensive hotel in great location in Leuven »

Hotel was inexpensive and in a great location near the center of Leuven. Primary negatives were the ambient noise in the hotel - some due to what appear to be relatively thin walls and some due to the proximity to shops that out of necessity have deliveries early in the morning (4am-5am).

« Nice room but poor staff »

The room was excellent and the location was amazing. However, we were made to pay for 2 nights parking when we only intended to park for one night, and a staff member told us that there was no way to reduce it to one night. This ultimately cost us €16 more, which we were very dissatisfied with.

At walking distance from railway station; inner city convenience; very friendly and efficient staff; good size and quality bed; noise was acceptable; cool without airco; curtains provided good darkness (which is an exception in hotels).

My first impression when I entered the room was sheer shock: the door opened right in front of a bed and my room was an emergency exit (the door would unlock automatically in case of fire for other guests to escape through it), and the bathroom was so small as those in trains. After a while though I started liking its cosiness and perfect space planning. Overall, interesting experience and a perfect stay.

The room was poorly insulated from an acoustic point of view, and you could hear people on the hallway and in the nearby rooms. The Ibis personnel were very polite and gave me lots of useful information regarding the public transport system of the city. Finally, the breakfast selection and quality were outstanding.

« Centrally located hotel, nice value for money »

I stayed in Leuven for business and this Ibis was perfect as it is really centrally located, only 5' walk from the City Hall and all restaurant and bar scene. As a normal Ibis hotel, the price was reasonable (given that everything in town was fully booked because of 3 congresses at the same time), rooms clean, personnel very helpful. The breakfast area a bit small and the breakfast served basic (however, this is normal for Ibis hotels), but still fresh and enough for a day start. Certainly recommended!!

« Great hotel with excellent service »

We booked a couple of rooms for a weekend break - there was a summer festival on so Leuven was packed. The staff were really helpful from the start, and we were impressed with the way they managed to remain friendly and calm, even when they were busy. Our rooms were spotless, well laid out and had pretty much everything you could need (although the addition of a kettle would have been nice). We slept well on the comfortable beds, and made good used of the air con as it was pretty hot outside. The soundproofing was very effective and we didn't get disturbed although the hotel was full. The breakfast choices were great, particularly the waffle machine, and we also enjoyed a few beers in the reception area bar. We can fully recommend Ibis Beer, a specially brewed bottled beer created by Ibis staff members. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay - the hotel is in a good location, close to the city centre, and we thought it provided good value - it's much better than many of the budget hotels we've stayed in before, and also exceeded some of the more expensive hotels we've experienced in the past!
