« Well sited, friendly hotel »

This is an Ibis hotel with basic but practical furnishings. The position close to the Bull Ring is good for business, shopping or leisure. The underground car park is great for a city centre hotel. The staff are friendly and efficient. Food and drink are what you would expect from an Ibis but the breakfast is excellent value. Rooms facing Chinatown can be noisy. It's got lots vibrancy. This was my second stay at the hotel and will use it again when I need to stay in Birmingham.

My first choice for short stays in the city.On the other side of town next to the Arcadian and Chinatown. Glee club, Hippodrome, Sunflower Lounge and the restaurant/bars of the Arcadian all in simple walks. City centre about 10 minute walk and new street station about 4.It's the staff though, they're ace!A lovely bunch, always helpful, always friendly.Rooms about what you'd expect. Nothing overly special but all you need and clean.Family rooms are a lot bigger.I'm usually just going to gigs for a one-nighter and this place is perfect.Food and a 24hr bar.

Staff couldn’t do enough to help, excellent service and so friendly, in particular I would like to give a special mention to Ingrid and Milan! Rooms basic but adequate, however, beds really poor and uncomfortable. Used conference facilities which were great, again staff all very accommodating.

Have stayed many times and it is a perfect location and staff are very friendly making it feel like a home from home. Only complaint is that the bar / lobby there is always far too hot every time I have stayed - uncomfortable during breakfast n even sitting at bar - am sure could easily be remedied

I have stated in Accor hotels in France and they are far superior and much better value for money than the shambolic rooms in this hotel. In partarcualar the room was extremely noisy both in the hotel and outside up until 4am. The so called shower was dismal, a shower of water not much better than a drip. Would definately not recommend to friends or family overall an unfortunate experience which I hope not to undertake again.

I have travelled with my 13yr old daughter and it was our first experience together for a short holiday together. It is not the first time that I am using Accor Hotels and in fact I already stayed in this hotel few years ago. This time we had problems on our arrival as I forgot my Visa card at home. I thought that the money was already taken however the staff needed the physical Visa card. I had proof of my Visa pics but was not enough. It took us a bit of time to sort it out but eventually we managed. Our stay at the Ibis New Street is always nice and welcome. Room was comfortable and clean. The security was very helpful helping us with the luggages and very smart. If I am not mistaken the rate advertised at the hotel for room only was 55stg per night per person while I paid 245.10 stg for 2 nights for 2 persons which I paid more. Also when I booked the holiday on the phone they told me that I got a discount which they have already deducted as I am a Member of Accor Hotels. If anyone can go through my booking and check I appreciate a lot. My daughter will be using same hotel end December as I recommend it to her. Thanks

Very good stay, excellent staff - all of them. Room ok, toilet very small. And the shower was rubbish. Just not enough power there. Changed temperature and often went down to a dribble. Very tiresome

Bed and pilows too hard, room on 1st floor very dated and tired looking. Woodchip paper on walls paint job needed..... main area of hotel good modern clean and vibrant. Rooms really let this place down. Breakfast good lots of choice and tasty.
