« closer to be an IBIS, rather than Mercure »

let's start with the positive things: the location is quite good. Close to the subway, nearby a nice quarter with excellent restaurants and a beautiful farmers market on saturday. The room was clean, quite and there was enough space. The staff was friendly and the hotel has a parking deck. However, it was quite disturbing that the breakfast area wasn't a nice place. The coffee machine hasn't seen any cleaning since -I guess- days; at the orange juice machine was a consistent puddle and no one of the few seen employees was feeling to clean it. The scrambled eggs are the unsavory mush which I know from the low-key-budget hotels. At each level is one coffee machine which creates a nice line-up (which gives enough time to check the cleanliness....) Honey is only downstairs; when the marmelade is off, it is off. Make a long story short: this was out of my so far Mercure experience and by far not a good start into a nice day. At the TV you find Chinese, some English and Italian (beside the French broadcasting-stations); that seems to be the only appreciated guests...) At least I could see ARTE in French.. by the way: many wrote about the parking deck. yes, it is small, but even with my 7seat SUV I survived. Just make sure your car is below 1,8m

Once again, I was very happy with my overnight at the hotel. People are extremely courteous, the room & amenities are very pleasant, breakfast is lavish and more than I need. Also worth noting is that the Mercure Lumière is located in a historical part of Lyon where cinema was born...

My room was very clean with a comfortable bed and amenities like a coffee pot, refrigerator, bathrobe, and slippers. The hotel is located in a safe, pleasant neighborhood with a tram station and many markets and restaurants nearby. Internet in my room was good, the staff was pleasant, and breakfast was passable. I would gladly stay here in again if passing through Lyon.

We booked at another accor hotel that was closing and told that our booking details and cost would be the same. Our booking included 2 city cards When checking in the staff member said there was no details of the city cards but would follow it up_ this did not happen__ at 9am the next day I checked and was told no manager around and come back at 10 am _ after still a lot of confusion and manager did not speak to us but we then had to go to tourist office and wait there for 40 minutes Also web site said restaurant was at hotel but the Hanger with a limited menu and other restaurant was not operating

Very pleasant and helpful staff. Had booked a premium double but was put in a classic double - while this reduced the price significantly, it would have been nice to have the extra space. Bed was very comfortable, room was very clean. I have never stayed in a 4-star that was so basic, however - no closet doors, no toiletries except a bar of soap for the sink (with no soap dish), plastic disposable cups, instant coffee. Everything was fine but it was a surprise given what I expect from a 4-star typically. Breakfast was very underwhelming, but not a concern for me as it was included in my rate.

The service was very good. Pleasant people ready to help and assist. My only source of dissatisfaction comes from the room. I had a room located in the corner of the building, it was in winter and the heat was very discomfortable: even after providing a small electric heater, some parts of the room were very cold when some were too hot. I believe that the thermal isulation of the building is very poor and causingthis discomfort.

The toilets in the bathroom of Standard are way too close to the wall for a 4* and the price and the a/c was noisy and couln’t be stopped (winter). We could get an upgrade to Prestige so it was fine the 2nd & 3rd night. Underground car park is convenient but really smelly.
