« Not good fo Ibis/Accor »

This place is causing Accor and Ibis brand damage. I have not come across an Accor hotel like this and it is not the fault of either the staff or the shift manager. It is a problem for the top management and their seemingly silly ways. How is it possible that you leave the reception at night time without English speaking frontline staff? There were just two people during our stay, who we spoke to from your reception staff who left us with a positive impression during our stay: Big thanks to Melanie, who fluently spoke English and who was excellent. She tried to help us out in any way possible. She came through as a kind, professional and most helpful person who was someone who saved faith with her positive "can do" attitude. She is one of the best of your team. The other big thanks goes to Ramy. We met Ramy at our arrival. He tried very hard to help us and he also tried very hard to understand what exactly I told him. He was very friendly and professional and he could not turn to anyone else for help and support with the language. With no support he achieved more than most could have, he checked us in while managing to get the information through. Also thanks to two of your teams who we met just briefly at checkout: Natalie and Jana, her shift manager. They were very good and tried to fix some of the damage to your reputation. Now the things that need to improve: English: How is it possible that a frontline staff tells me (in German) that she does not speak English and she didn't understand what I was talking about. That was it. Sorry, I don't speak your language. Next please.... I had to ask and rely on another hotel guest (!) to translate to German. Air conditioning: The air conditioning did not work in our room. Apparently on the top floors the old systems can not handle the load. Our room on L10 was melting hot on a hot day. The reason why the old air-conditioning units are struggling? The top management of the hotel apparently made a new cost saving policy that the air conditioning must be turned off while the room is not occupied by the guests, even if the room is allocated for guest arrival. That means the system doesn't just need to keep the temperature low, but instead it has to cool down the room from a hot temperature first. It just doesn't work. It fails. I appreciate it is a budgeting and cost issue, but silly decisions like this do not help the situation. Yes, you can open the windows, BUT there is a lot of noise and light from the surrounding buildings and their air conditioning systems during the night, so no sleep with the windows open. I note that Melanie kindly offered a replacement room, but that had no views and the air conditioner was just as ineffective in it when we tried, so we decided to turn down the kind offer and stayed in our original room. Please fix the air conditioning situation in the hotel. Internet: Internet went down on Saturday evening. We called the reception around 11pm, where the lady who picked up did not speak English. When we asked for someone who spoke English, a man took over the phone. When we told him about the Internet access not working, he said he was from the security team and noone was around from Ibis to help. Wait!....What?! The guy said noone was there at the reception from Ibis to help and the security team tried to take care of the guests?! He said he tried to get something done about the Internet, but chances were low.... Next morning (our checkout day) we still did not have Internet access at 11am. We did not have an ETA for fixing it either. "The company was working on it" we were told. Breakfast with happy flies: We usually decide on the day if we have breakfast at the hotel. We went down the first day. After seeing how happily the flies were eating from the buffet table, we decided not to disturb them. So we left and had breakfast in the city instead. To sum it up, this place doesn't give us the impression it is run well and it is not the fault of your staff on the ground or their shift managers. I would suggest to seriously consider promoting someone like Melanie to help sorting out the place.

« Good hotel »

The location is great for those arriving by train. In most services the Ibis standard is maintained, which is very good. Not all staff speak English. Other minor details were missing from the services.

« In a good place »

A hotel from the communist period, which is well renovated, but there are still plenty of places for improvement, especially in terms of service. Too big a hotel for my taste. The hotel is in a good position, between the railway station and the city center surrounded by shopping centers. I have not been offered a quick check-in and quick check-out service despite being a member of the loyalty program. Also, unlike all Ibis hotels where I was the only one in this I did not receive an email account after leaving it.

« Excellent hotel! »

An excellent hotel. Great location, comfortable room, great breakfast and excellent staff. Easy walking distance to the train station, shopping, and the beautiful old town. Whenever I visit Dresden I will stay there.

Above Ibis standards. Impersonal serviice , deficiency in talk english or lack of it in some cases. air conditioner not good and don´t have safe. I recommend a general improvment of the hotel to become more comply with Ibis quality

« Great Location at a Reasonable Price. »

Dresden Ibis Zentrum is ideally located if one is arriving or departing Dresden by train - it is only a five or so minute walk straight opposite the station main entrance. The room was spacious and comfortable, with air conditioning which could be adjusted. The bed was comfortable and the area quiet. Breakfast was a substantial offering with something to please all tastes. The staff was efficient and welcoming. The attractions of the city were an easy walk away.

« Good Stay »

Because we were traveling by train I wanted to stay close to the train station. Initially I wanted to book the hotel right across the street from the train station but they had only one room left. This one is not that far from the train station and it turns out to be just a bit closer to all the sights we were interested in. The room rate is very reasonable. I would have given an excellent rating for the service had the check-in and check-out been a little faster. For a hotel of more than 400 rooms having only two people at the front desk seems a little inadequate. The room was clean and quiet. There are lots of restaurants nearby. There is a huge shopping mall close by if you need anything.

« Nice hotel »

This hotel has an ideal location between central station and citycentre. Friendly check-in. Room was modern and clean. However, breakfastroom was very crowded on sunday. I guess because this hotel is very big.

« Great Stay »

Booked the hotel as it was quite close to the Hauptbahnhof in Dresden, thus making getting on either trains/buses or trams an easy option. When I arrived, there was quite a large queue of people all trying to check in. The staff were really doing a great job to process them all through & get them in to rooms. Breakfast was a bit of a lottery as both the Bastei & Konigstein buildings had breakfast rooms. So Tuesday & Wednesday I had to walk to the Bastei, on the other 2 days I was in the Konigstein. However, the staff again were very approachable at Reception & they kept me informed where the breakfast was being run. The Bastei's bar was also a very pleasant place to relax with a beer after a long day. Plus, their beer prices were very reasonable indeed! I would highly recommend staying here.

« 3 Night stay Feb 2019 »

Once again I choose Ibis Dresden Bastei for my stay in Dresden, its not as modern as some other hotels but it is very convenient for the station, great views of the city from the 7th floor. room was clean and tidy, although a little dated compared to some. Despite being opposite the lifts (4) there was little noise from fellow guests. I can't comment on the breakfasts this time as I didn't book them due to early starts on day trips. Will certainly use again.

« Sufficient for the purpose »

A very large hotel by Ibis standards, still reflecting its DDR roots. (We first stayed here soon after the Wende.) Reception is slow, perhaps because it has to deal with slow customers. My room never got cleaned, but that was not a big problem on a two-night stay. The hotel is decent value, convenient on foot both for the Hauptbahnhof and the Altstadt. Two nights is probably the limit for comfort.

« Lower level than other Ibis hotels »

My experience was the worst one in a Ibis Hotel. I am a Le Club member for almost 10 years and I can ensure that....First: I received the keys but somebody else was using the room. Luckily there was another option;Second: Crowded check-in and only two attendants;Third: I have requested the late checkout and instead of look the availability the attendant requested my Le Club status - this have never happened before. And it was denied! Forth: I didn’t receive my welcome drink. But at the end, the localization is amazing!

« The worst ibis »

Good location, 5 min from the central train station. Ibis dresden is a 1990's ibis with old style furniture. The 2 thin small pillows was too soft. No fridge in the room and a small bottle of water in the table with 2 glasses that cost 3,5 euro. No online check in and fast check out for the members of accorhotels. The air continioned didnt work with 35C outside and we didnt sleep during our Stay. During the night drank people were crying in the street.

« Fully met our requirement »

Good value accommodation convenient for both the Hauptbahnhof and the old town dsights. There was considerable noise from the pedestrian precinct below during the evening, but it became quiet overnight.

« A very old and tired IBIS »

Accor really need to think about their branding. On consecutive nights I stayed at IBIS Dresden (Germany) and IBIS (Lincoln) UK and the stays couldn't have been more different. The two hotels are in no way the same queality and the level of service is so different IBIS Dresden is a 1990's IBIS. Basic functional room (no tea/ coffee making facilities), single duvet on a double bed, pillows that have seen better days and not really cheap enough to justify this. Its nicely situated close to the station and a short walk from central Dresden

« Great location good hotel in it's price range. »

This hotel is only a 5 minute walk from the central trainstation (Hauftbahnhof) and a 10 minute walk from the historical center of Dresden. It is situated near the shopping area of the old town. The room is small but clean and cosy. The only negative were the pillows. Far too thin and too little support. Breakfast is IBIS standard meaning overall good to very good. In general a good hotel for a few days in Dresden.

« A very average hotel with rude reception staff. »

A very average hotel with small rooms. The front staff was very rude. The only positive was the location with lots of shops around and the train station a short walk away. Check in is after 3 and check out before 12.

« hotel near station »

It was a short walk from the station and I had breakfast in the morning as it was a reduced price for being an Accor card holder. The staff were helpful in providing me with a map of the city and the use of the computer

« Great location, pleasent stay »

The hotel was just at the heart of the Christmas Markets, but in the same time the room was quiet. Parking was a bit more complicated, that usually expect from Accor. More help (i.e. paying parking ticket at the desk) would be useful.

« Horrible customer service and other issues »

From the beginning of check in the staff at the front desk was very rude and extremely unhelpful. I asked about food locations in the area and the response was "yes, they are around here" I then asked for directions and the response was just walk behind the store, which it was not there. The next morning I asked to use the reception computer to print a train ticket and the front desk staff started yelling directions at me across the room, then another man came to "help" me and also go angry. The room was extremely small, more like a cabin on a cruise ship. Don't even try to close the door to the bathroom. Breakfast was the worst I have experienced. Most of the food was gone and had ran out. It was so crowded that there was no where to sit. I ended up with just a cup of coffee. I had paid $8.50E extra for the breakfast. In the end I checked out a day early, so the room cost me an extra night and an extra breakfast. Of the four places I stayed in while in Germany this was by far the worst.
