Room was of adequate size. However furniture looks old and below standard of Sofitel. Room shower room door could not fully sealed and leakage of water out of shower area. Dinner buffet dining at Mosiac was bad. Food was cold and dry. Despite the feedback to the manager, nothing was done besides offering to heat up the food.

During our 2 weeks trip to China we stayed at LeMeridien Qingdao, Shangrila Hangzhou, Sheraton Changzhou, Sheraton Kingsley Nanjing and in Shanghai we will not miss staying at Sofitel Hyland. You've such a lovely place smack in Nanjing East Road. Unfortunately we dine at your Chinese Restaurant but it was under renovation.

In genera, rooms and amenities were of a very high quality. Staff serving at the concierge could attend to residents with greater passion and sincerity, but did not deviate from a basic standard of comfortable service, therefore was acceptable. Location was absolutely superb. Good money for value and would definitely re-book where need be.

The hotel is located in shopping area, good for sightseeing. No security for elevator, and hotel building is old, but well maintained. Breakfast is variety of choices.

Convenient location for shopping & site seeing. Service is good and give free snacks and waters in room! Twin Room is clean but a little small. Value for money is not bad. Will definitely recommend and stay again!

The hotel is situated next to Nanjing Road. It is clean. I got a room that has a good view on Shanghai Pearl Tower. It is just magnificent. The hotel staffs are all very friendly and speaks very good English. They are very helpful. I am looking forward to stay here again.

After working out in the gym, had approach counter staffs (2 of them) to exchange a fresh towel. I thought of using the showering facilities before heading back to room. Being my first time in that floor, I walked towards a door on the right side of the counter thinking there’s access, I was then being told off rudely by counter staff asking me where am I going? I told them I’m going for a shower cos I saw someone coming out from a back door of the gym that seems to have a toilet and showering facilities. It was then another counter staff by the name of Mary Pan pointed to another side which is accessing to the lift. She claimed that after walking through the lift I can have access to the toilet. I repeated to her and the other 2 counter staffs that I’m going for a shower and she just brush me off saying it can be access through that direction. After checking it out, there was only 3 cubicles of W.C. There wasn’t any bathing facilities at all! Being provoked, I had returned to confront the counter staff and specifically asked for Mary Pan. I asked her is it because we are only hotel guest and not a member of the gym, that’s why we are being despised and not welcomed to use the facilities? Not only did Mary didn’t apologise for her mistakes or miscommunication, she had argued that she heard me saying I was looking for toilet. I told her that her attitude is unacceptable and I’ll be writing this feedback for the poor service behaviour, she still has the cheek to reply ‘please go ahead’. Another feedback was that on the 3rd day of my stay, the shower gel in my room had not been replaced. I have to call for Housekeeping to specifically bring me new shower gel. Again another service lapsed. To date, this is my worst experience staying in Le Accor group of hotels. I always have high regards on the service level especially under Sofitel brand name and have always been providing positive feedback. This episode had truly ruin this impression. I will still support other Le Accor hotels but will not return to Sofitel Hyland Shanghai, utterly disappointed.

The staff were very helpful with my many questions and translating information into Chinese. The room was very nice. I loved having bottles of water everyday as it was quite hot outside. The location couldn't have been better.

The hotel is very well located, at the center of Nanjing road, close to the subway and the main sites. The staff is very nice and helpful. The hotel is very clean and. The rooms are very nice and well furnished. The breakfast is excellent.
