I had high expectations and your beautiful hotel, facilities and staff exceeded them on all accounts. Your grounds are beautiful and show wonderful views from every angle. Your staff really must be complimented on their kindness and generosity. I travel alone and appreciate the courtesy given to me. The excursions were also professional and enjoyable. The suite was wonderful for views, the library, well stocked minibar and decor is modern yet elegant and very comfortable.

Knowing a little about the history of the hotel, I anticipated that this this was going to the highlight lodging of my short stay in Egypt, so naturally felt a little trepidation that it was not going to live up to expectations. Pleased to say that this was not the case; seriously good service that I cannot recall having experienced elsewhere, attention to detail (particularly in relation to housekeeping and the turndown service), a wonderful pool. I am generally not one of those people, but I felt no need to leave the hotel for a couple of days at the end of trip as all my wishes were well catered for here.

Beautiful historic hotel on a beautiful spot. Staff super kind and keen to help. Rooms can be noisy due to absence of double glazed windows (old building of course). Food quality can be improved though. For instance winter palace in Luxor provides better food. Expect very high price especially for Egypt.

Sofitel Cataract Old Legend is a hotel that can not be described in words. Calling it a hotel doesn't do it justice, and having an accommodation or stay there is an experience that is incomparable. And what differentiates a hotel from an experience, is the people. The architect and infrastructure of the hotel is beautiful, but it is the people that carry its weight are what makes me want to come back again and again. Everyone working makes sure that your journey from arrival to your journey to departure is an unmatched experience. They make everyone want to come back, and a repeat visitor is harder to please than a first time guest. I've been a repeat visitor for years now, and i can not wait to go back soon.

lots of history...we stayed in the old part of the hotel. I would recommend this section of the hotel..we had diner in the French resturant and the oriental resturant...both were great. I would also recommend having drinks on the patio. we had a great stay here...FYI we drove from Luxor to this property...I would recommend not taking the cruise but seeing all the small villages you drive by

We had a wonderful room with a large balcony overlooking the Nile. There's a nice swimming pool and terraces with views for eating and drinking and attentive service. The hotel is right on the Nile with its own pier. Highly recommended

The service in all the hotel areas was excellent The atmosphere and environment of the hotel was great The only comment I gave during my check out, the water in the bathroom sink did not evacuate well, it was very slow. Room 1225.
