We would stay at the Nemzeti again and will recommend it to friends. Access to subway was next to the hotel and there were many wonderful restaurants nearby. It was the quietest hotel we have ever stayed it!

I chose this hotel at random from Expedia for a my two-week holiday from the end of May. I wanted to visit Hungary, and not just Budapest, and immerse myself in the Hungarian Language that I am slowly learning. This was quite an undertaking for me and there was some trepidation. When I reached the hotel I was warmly welcomed by receptionist Francsiska who kept in touch with me throughout the holiday. I so much enjoyed the holiday that I booked two more weeks from late August and had absoutely no hesitation in choosing the Nemzeti again. No trepidation this time but I again received a warm welcome from Hennie and again Francsiska kept in touch with me. All of the hotel staff were easy to engage with, explained things in good English and put up with my limited Hungarian. The room was spacious (I like to do Pilates every day and there was plenty of room) with an excellent shower and was kept spotlessly clean for me. I cannot emphasise enough just how naturally friendly and hepful all the staff were and I will book again for at least two week next year. Thank you.

We really enjoyed the modern twist of the rooms in an older gracious building. The room was very clean and comfortable. The air condition worked great except when the fan was on high it would drown out the TV. The shower in the bathroom was standard size but the shower in bath area was very tight and water from the shower would wash the bathroom floor at the same time - not meant for a tall person. The hotel is situated close to both the subway/metro stations and is a 10-minute walk to the Train station. You could get to most attractions by subway in 5 minutes. There is plenty of restaurants in the immediate area for dinning. The street the hotel is located on is very busy street with both people and cars which could intimidate a lot of folks and can contribute to the noise levels in the rooms. No outdoor patio space. The breakfast was very good with lots of selections.

« Incredible experience in historical bulding »

I liked each minute of my staying at hotel. From the very beginning when I stepped into great building with historical architecture and interior I felt like e very special guest. I liked location as it is 10 minutes walk from all interesting bars, and 20 minutes to historical center. Very cozy rooms with great bed and mattress. Clean, vey well smelling. And great breakfast.

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Nemzeti Budapest. The hotel, while not located near the Danube, was easily accessible from the Blaha Lujza subway stop. The breakfast was very good - great selection, friendly staff. We would suggest that grab bars be installed in the bathtub/shower area as access was tricky/dangerous.

Extremely professional and friendly staff, excellent loyalty recognition (one of the best experiences as a Gold member I've had in all of Europe). The building itself is gorgeous, the room was perfect with great attention to detail and a very high standard of cleanliness. The breakfast buffet offers a large variety and the a-la-carte egg dishes are superb! Lastly, the value I got for the price I paid was absolutely unbeatable. I have already booked my next stay here and this will always be the hotel of my choice when I come to Budapest!

Overall it was ok, however I felt cheated in the taxi payment not used by me, I was dropped at nyugati railway station, but taxi for pick up was sent to Népliget, a mistake made by the hotel, & I was made to pay for the driver & his waiting. This has not left a good impression. I have paid HUF 6500. It’s a lot of money, whereas I paid to the local taxi to reach hotel from nyugati HUF 128

« Great Hotel but slightly futher from city than we expected and too much train noise »

We loved the hotel and staff were excellent and very helpful. Our only disppaointment was that the hotel was a little further than the city centre than we anticipated but once we worked out busses and trams it was OK. We did notice that the noise and vibration from the underground line was noticeable even on the 3rd Floor
