Recently refurbished, guest rooms at Mercure Brisbane offer a range of accommodation options to suit all guest requirements, including Superior, Privilege and Deluxe options. During the refurbishment, Mercure and WMK Architecture collaborated to create awarm yet modern space filled with bright colour, which is both inviting and comfortable. The work of local artist Kelly Fielding was also incorporated into the room design, which includes her range of headboards designed to resemble the Brisbane River.

Booked a double river view room for a girls night out with some friends. Great position on the river with a view of South Bank and the Eye of Brisbane. Full buffet breakfast was amazing and only cost us $1 each with our room special. The only bad thing I have to say is that the beds are a bit hard and uncomfortable to sleep in. Overall, I would stay here again as it's so close to everything.

When traveling for business you don’t need fancy, you just want things to work. The room was very dark; room service order was missing items that had been charged for; meals provided without cutlery or salt and pepper; no teaspoons in the room. Do you get the picture?

We chose a river view room and would do so again. Best value water view in town. Staff all very keen to please and looked after us well. Decent coffee from pods in the room. Good base and 5 minutes from Roma Strret station with trains to the airport. The room had two beds and one chair so you have to sit on the bed to watch tv. One bed and two comfy chairs would suit better. Coffee pods welcome, can you get biodegradeable rather than plastic?

I was jery unhapy with the fact that i had no hot water on my first day in the hotel. I didn't realise this untill toe following morning as I collapesed in to bed exhaused after a long day and travel without a shower. As I was preparing to present to a client, i tried to take a shower and found tha there was no hot water. I tried the tap in bothe directions ans waited for 15 minutes for teh water to heat up. No luck. I HAD to have a shower. So I braced for a cold shower, then found that there was not hot water on the basin tap either, so I followed my cold shower with a cold shave. By now I was rushing to get to my job on time after wasting time trying to get the shower working. I briefly mentioned the problem to Reception, indicated that I expected half of my rate for the night to be refunded and left for the day. When I returned I was told that I would not get a refund, but my dinner and breakfast would be reversed. (~$85). This was not what I wanted but was acceptable. I asked if the problem had been solved. I was told to go and test it for myself, and to turn both taps (basing and shower) on at the same time to see if I could get it to work that way. WTF? No I was getting pissed off. I suggested that if there was a lack of confidence that the water was working, that maybe I should be given a different room where the water was working. Instead I was sent to the room to test it for myself. I did. It was still cold. Both taps, together and individually. I then called back down and was told to pack up my room so that I could move. NOW there was a spare room. I was pissed that there was an assumption that a) I didn't know how to turn on a tap and that a second attempt might fix it or b) that maybe it had magiocally fixed itself during the day and it was ok for me to test it for the hotel. I packed up, returned again to reception and recieved a new room key for an identical room on a higher floor. The remainder of the stay was uneventful. No one mentioned anything else to me in way of an appolgy beyond the original food refund. Regards, Nick C.

I stayed at this hotel as a conference was on there it’s alittle tired but overall staff friendly and bed comfortable and rooms clean the only thing is as it was booked by my work I did let the front desk know that I was a gold Accor when I checked in and the guy was rude and said that doesn’t matter because you didn’t book the accom ! Was disappointed with that so then was not treated unfortunately like I normally am at an Accor hotel
