« A consistent stay »

This was about our 15th stay at this hotel. Service can be a bit hit and miss but this trip it was great and we were upgraded in room which we haven't been in a while despite our Accor Membership. Always a consistent stay though.

I was disappointed with my stay here, mainly because of the location of our room. When the lady at reception told me where our room was and how we reached it I asked her was it possible to wheel our bags over there. Of course she says! Obviously she’s never done it before. Had to lift our bags over a chain fence, even though it was lowered you couldn’t wheel a bag over it. Then had to try and drag our bag through gravel, then it was carry our bags down the steps or walk through the garden. We chose the nearest route beside the garden. And had to repeat again the next morning through wet grass and gravel and over the chain.

My experience was excellent. Staff are always friendly and rooms are always clean and welcoming. The only thing (little) that I could say was disappointing was the Room service menu was not up to date and there was a little confusion as to what I wanted to order and what was available. Other than that it was and always is a great experience.

Staff were really helpful, nice and friendly! The food was delicious! Bed was super comfy! Only complaint was the Bathroom, the shower floods the bathroom if you turn it onto full pressure. Pressure was awesome but sadly had to turn it back down.

We had stayed previously in a more upgraded room and it was fabulous. I was less than impressed this time- the queen bed was as hard a rock. The toilet pipes made a screeching sound for 20 mins after use of toilet or the sink. The room service I ordered was the dearest item on the menu- the braised beef cheeks. The meat itself was beautiful- the “jus” was inedible and nasty - a brown liquid not a rich sauce, the garlic mash was lumpy and tasted really awful- inedible also. The saving grace was my side order of sweet potato chips and steamed vegetables. The sticky date pudding was so incredibly dry and rock hard and there was barely a drizzle of sauce- but nothing, not even the ice cream made the pudding ok to eat. I left 3/4 of my expensive meal uneaten and I was very disappointed as this was an unusual splurge for me.. an intended treat. The saving grace of the whole visit was the friendliness of the staff and the amazing buffet breakfast!!

Staff can't fault. Room as smaller than expected. Rooms were not close to family as we wanted. Rooms are old and out dated. You can see the timber rot ext. It does need to be renovated. Price of restaurant and bar are fair. Needed better or new menu for lunch. Bar menu should be available at all times

Loved the place. Had a room next to the lake. Rooms simple yet efficient. The breakfast buffet was absolutely delicious and so worth it. Kids are for free. Just a bonus.

« A very pleasant overnight stay »

We needed to attend a family funeral and flee up to Townsville from Melbourne. We arrived mid afternoon and caught a taxi to the crematorium. We decided to drop off our bags at Mercure on the way. The staff were very helpful with that and when we returned later in the day. We invited family for breakfast the next morning. The meal was very nice and again the staff were very helpful as we checked out.

Staff were friendly, bathroom looked recently renovated, room however was a little tired. Room faced road which was a little noisy - would ask for pool facing room in future. TV didn't work so had to switch rooms. Could not figure out the dual light switches and thought lights didn't work!

Part of your job is sending out the room invoice by email. Having to chase you is annoying, please don't do it, you have delayed my expense claim. Marking down to 3 stars as this happens to me almost every time I stay in an accor property. Fix it
