Room was oldfashioned, lots of mosquitoes, I had to deposit IDR 500k even the travel agent had paid all the expense, there some staff in the restaurant who weren’t friendly and didn’t have a fast response when I had some requests.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The room we stayed at was big and clean although somehow there were some mosquitoes in the room even though we didn’t leave the balcony doors opened. The breakfast was also good, a lot of different varieties of choices. Overall we were really satisfied with our stay at Novotel Surabaya and we would definitely come back here again when we are in town. Thank you Novotel!

The hotel location is good, near Marvell City. The staff was nice and helpful. The room is clean but the amenities is not complete (as a 4 star hotel) like cotton bud, comb, etc. The breakfast taste is delicious but lack of food options. Overall, this hotel is a nice place to stay with swimming pool and garden in the middle of the hotel.

Made a reservation for a room for 4 people, but got a room for 2 and was forced to pay extra to accomodate the remaining 2 members of my family. Scandalous, I would say! I am not usually complaining about hotel receptions and the way business is done, but what happened to me and my family today has really given me a very bad aftertaste. I feel tricked, cheated. By your company!   As you can see from our booking we have made a reservation for 4 people: me, my wife and our two kids, aged 14 and (since today) 16. We were assigned room 322 by the reception, but when we entered the room only one bed was available. When I asked where the kids were to sleep, we were answered we could order extra beds for RP350.000 per person, per night. That would add up to RP700.000 for 2 kids per night and that would mean the room would be totally cramped with beds.   As you can imagine, our kids are not fond of sleeping in one bed with mum and dad, and since we were tired of travelling we had no choice but to find a solution in the hotel. Looking for another hotel was not an option, so we ended up booking an additional room for the kids.   What I am truly mad about is that your company "sold" us a room for 4 people where clearly only 2 people would fit. Do you really think a family of 4 with two adolescents will sleep in one bed? Only 4 people can sleep in this room at an additional charge of 700.000 per night. How can you do that? That is thievery of you ask me!   I apologise for using harsh words, but that is the way I feel about this issue. I feel tricked. A very nasty way of doing business and it has left a bitter aftertaste, which is a shame because these are the last few days of our holiday in Indonesia and we would rather like to have positive memories about our stay in Surabaya.   Hope you can do something to correct this issue on short notice, since we only have 3 nights to go. You have all my information should you wish to contact me.

The place was extremely beautiful like a resort with pretty pools. The rooms clean and spacious. Calm and serene ambience around the hotel. The only dip observed was the spa. Pricey and although the massage was passable, the lady kept making a conversation and disturbed the peace. Sans the spa, I would highly recommend it.
