« Small room but close to metro station. Good breakfast buffet. Hotel charged us again in addition to Expedia. Still fighing for the refund. »

Definitely not one of the good hotels that I have stayed with but is a reasonable choice for tourists visiting Paris if the budget is a concern. Next time I would rather spend more to stay closer to the center of Paris as Paris riders on the metro were pretty unfriendly and rude on the basis of our experiences in this visit.

« The terrible service in Restaurant in RH floor ruined the overall experience and impression »

on last Wednesday, my colleague and I had a terrible experience in the hotel restaurant in the RH floor. The two on-duty waiters treated us rudely that eventually we went out for dinner instead having it in Novotel 14 porte d'Orleans. The issue was then orally communicated to the male receptionist on the same day. There were 2 black waiters on-duty that day: initially the taller one RUDELY ORDERED us not to seat in a 4-person table. We agreed thinking we were 2 person and the restaurant may have many guests needing the 4-person table. I use the word "ORDER" and "RUDE" indicating the exact behavior and feeling we had at that moment. Then the 2nd waiter RUDELY insisted us to order two salmon salad when I CLEARLY told him SEVERAL TIMES we wanted only ONE. The waiter said to me directly "what is your problem?" and disappeared. By being treated like so, we left and had dinner outside with very good food and polite and smiling waiters. My colleague and I are more than unsatisfied being treated so especially Novotel is a preferred hotel with our company. And we would not our colleagues or any other guests being treated as such anymore. The service in the restaurant is so unexpected and unsatisfied. The

« It was a very pleasant stay »

I enjoyed my stay in Novotel Porte d'Orleans. The room was very comfortable with a nice view. It was warm and I do appreciate the quietness. The breakfast was excellent. the service was good. It was a reasonably nice location near the public transport. However, I found that the shower enclosure needs improvement. A safety bar is needed on the right wall to avoid slipping. The WC located in a separate room is nice but the WC itself was too small. In the Car Park a warning system is needed for the car, which is entering the car park and descending down the ramp to avoid the collision with the car, which is leaving the car park at the same time and is climbing up the ramp. We had to do a very awkward reversing , there was very little space and we had to call the staff of the hotel to open the barrier again. for us to leave. These are my main observations.

Overall pretty good the room was clean, the breakfast & dinner we had was also excellent. Only disappointed that we were provided with paper cups (2) and a couple of tea bags. We booked for 3 adults which sofa bed was made up but we got 2 paper cups which is ridiculous it is impossible to hold a paper with boiling water in it when I asked the reception desk he explain that was Hotel policy.

I usually feel very at home in the Novotel and well looked after but this time it was difficult. Due to the hotel being busy and having to change my travel plans I ended up with 3 seperate bookings. I dont mind changing rooms but to be told that I am not eligible for points or a complimentary glass of wine was a little insulting. If the booking is complicated it is precisely the time that the service team should step up and take care of a GOLD card customer to make me welcome and ease my stress.

You need new manager and chef to the restaurant. There was 7 persons in the restaurant at Sunday evening SEP 15th. One senior pair from Australia, two ladies from Argentina, one mid aged woman and us , senior aged pair from Finland. So, not very much customers! My wife asked the portion of salmon -mentioned in your menu - it was not available. I ordered caramelsited ribs, mentioned in menu. It was piece of fatty meat, cool and un understantable portion. Next morning there was kind of mess in the breakfast area as well. One part of the tables was reserved - to whom? I did not find the plate until asking. The first possession under table level was empty the second place include a couple of those. etc etc We have been really disappointed after over twenty years visited Acces hotels like Ibis and Mercury. Our aim to increase the level of standard of hotel living did not succeed. The only thing which was increased was the price.

« Very convenient location and good service »

We have enjoyed our stay at the Novotel Porte d’Orléans. We have used this facility previously and we were satisfied with the staff. ‘The hotel is close to the Boulevard périphérique which gives you easy access to Orly Airport and other arrondissements close to the Blvd. Périphérique (just stay away from the rush hours). Hotel is quiet (good insulation) and you don’t get the trafic noise. This time we had a excellent room with a little living room where one can watch TV without disturbing his sleeping partner.

First on arrival, the night guard tried to convince me that I was at the wrong address and I should probably go to the hotel next door... The night staff who checked us in, on his side was excellent, polite, affable and very professional. The service was perfect during our stay but for the breakfast that I ordered in my room on the second day and that I had to chase up. Then on the last day, despite the fact that the check-out was due at 12:00, I ended up being stuck in the lift as I went down to load my car, with my 8yo son still sleeping in the room. The problem was relatively quickly sorted but I had to give direction to the call centre about what to do (contact reception rather than electrician for the lift) as the agent sounded quite lost and it was unnecessary stress just when we were about to take the road for a long journey.

This Hotel has unfriendly staff, rubbish service. The rooms were not clean the toilet exhaust was not working, we reported to the reception but this was not fixed. I would not recommend that to any one. Very rude staff at the reception have no manners to treat your guests.
