The bathroom hardware was dirty, I understand the condition was because of the sulfuric impact. However, the carpet looked and felt dirty as well. Plus the room was cold so they provided us extra heater, which caused us, including my 5-month-old, nosebleed in the morning.

I'm really satisfied with this hotel, location is perfect, just 100m to the lake front of Lake Rotorua, less than 10 minutes walk to the city centre of Rotorua and i-Site. And you can find all best restaurant on EAT STREAT which just next to the hotel. If you have rented car, hotel also provide free parking. Breakfast is good with enough choices. This hotel is the best choice in Rotorua.

Worst experience ever at a Novotel Nz.The dinner and breakfast buffets were messy, and the staff unhelpful and unfriendly. Very disappointing experience. The layout of the buffers were disgusting with food all over the place, on the floor.

We had a great stay at Novotel Rotorua recently. I can’t speak highly enough of the friendly and helpful service from all the staff we encountered. The room and facilities were lovely and clean. We enjoyed a wonderful buffet breakfast each morning and also enjoyed the thermal pools on our stay. We look forward to visiting again!

« Could have been so much better »

Great location but, the hotel is getting tired and needing a refresh. The bed was really soft and the bathroom very ordinary, and carpet dirty. Please understand that a good many travellers are not interested in having a bath, and prefer a shower. A standard shower would be better. If desirable, perhaps only 50% of the rooms should have a bath over the shower. My wife is able bodied but was recovering from surgery and getting into the bath to have a cramped shower is not ideal, and no the disabled rooms are always never preferred. Aircon was faulty. At check in there was a fowl up regarding payment / use of points which took a long time to resolve, although the staff were helpful, something so simple was completely messed up.

Smooth stay from check in. Staff at reception was always helpful & attentive, restaurant staff went above and beyond and the food was always lovely, especially the breakfast buffet. The rooms were clean and spacious. Loved our corner view. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Third time I’ve stayed, never given the upgrade as mentioned with my gold Accor card. The welcome drinks for some reason are set to house wines and beer only unlike other hotels.

« Very poor standard for a Novotel not up to specification. »

Upgraded to a Lake View Room at time of booking requesting upper floor preference .Due to configuration of room Lake View was if you got up from the couch walked to window and turned left but wait the trees obscure the view. Very misleading - desk staff said next time we stay we could mention we wanted to stay on the upper levels with a lakeview -(this is exactly what we requested at time of booking) Room very tired badly stained carpet, only one chair to eat dinner at desk, one flannel for two people, rubber missing from toilet seat, toilet badly stained, limited TV channels and went to watch news in the morning at 9am - no TV available at this time. Not enough light in seating area. As for the bed it was built up so high with bulking under the base sheet that we kept rolling off to the side. No back support. At other visits to Novotel we have been welcomed on the TV screen when we turned it on. Sorry team this is just not up to standard - we stay at Novotel because of consistency with rooms etc but this time we were very disappointed.

I was disappointed again as the Buffett was Luke warm each morning. I did mention this to reception. Also I had problems using my AccorPlus card when trying to receive my discounts.

I attended for a conference. Whilst a quite distance away from the Rotorua Conference Centre the hotel is well located to the nearby lakefront and eateries Hotel is nice and tidy but carpet in room needing some love. Found staff exceptional in all areas. Had a great experience with the checkin/checkout team, helpful staff in the restaurant when we turned up close to closing time, and good service in the bar. Due to us having been mountain biking in the mud and rain i did drop muddy drops on my bedspread and in th bathroom. These wer both cleaned in the morning after and the room was beautifully presented

The location has to be the best in Rotorua. By the lake, right by Eat Street and handy to everything. Lovely to see free parking. The welcome is warm and friendly. The hotel looks amazing,, since my last visit some years ago. Great room overlooking the city.... and it was lovely to have an 11am check out. Breakfast in the dining room was extremely satisfactory and my friend and I enjoyed relaxing in the lounge for a while afterwards before departing. Thank you. It was sensational and staff were warm and welcoming. Congratulations.. keep it up.
