« Beautiful hotel, perfect location! »

I had the chance to spend a week at the newly renovated Fairmont Rio Copacabana, and it has been a real dream. Everything from the moment I was greeted at the door to the moment I left the hotel was really great. The location is ideal, on Copacabana, a footstep away from Ipanema and close from a metro station. The renovation of the hotel is beautiful, luxurious yet warm and cozy. The staff is extremely kind and helpful. I can't think of a better place to stay in Rio!

The service throughout the hotel was exceptional - particularly the reception and concierge teams. The rooms are lovely and modern, with excellent facilities in the hotel - the gym and pool areas are fabulous! The breakfasts were a lovely treat. Location is superb.

Everything is so new and beautiful! My room was perfect. The view is incredible! I had a backside view which isn't as beautiful, but I could see the incredible sunset every evening! The view at dinner and breakfast was out of this world. The dinner menu was a little rich, I could have used more salads or light options, but that was my only complaint. Wonderful!

This newly renovated hotel is now a beautiful contemporary hotel with possibly the best view over Copacabana from the elevated pool and restaurant area. The breakfast service is fantastic and can be taken in here. The rooms are great and the bed one of the best i have slept in. The late turndown service calls to the room are great.

OUR BOOKING WAS ORIGINALLY FOR SOFITEL IPANEMA, NO ONE INFORMED OR CALLED US REGARDING THE CONSTRUCTION WORKS AND CLOSURE OF THE HOTEL. WE FOUND OUT THE DAY BEFORE CHECKIN (OCT 29TH) THAT A NEW BOOKING WAS CREATED FOR US IN FAIRMONT COPACABANA. WE CALLED ON OCT 29TH @ 11:24 TO FAIRMONT (+55…) AND TRANSFERRED TO THE RESERVATIONS DEPARTMENT: WE ENQUIRED ABOUT THE BOOKING AS WE ONLY WANTED ONE ROOM WITH 1 EXTRA BED, THAT THEY CONFIRMED FOR A RATE OF 70 USD DOLLARS. ON CHECKOUT THE SURPISE CAME UP AS THE EXTRA BED WAS CHARGED AT 350 BRL (ALMOST 90USD), MEANING THAT WE PAID AT LEAST 75USD MORE FOR THE 4 NIGHTS THAN WHAT WAS AGREED OVER THE PHONE. NO ONE AT THE CHECKOUT DESK DID ANYTHING TO FIX IT OR APPLY THE AGREED 70USD RATE FOR THE EXTRA BED, AND WHEN WE ASKED FOR THE OFFICIAL COMPLAINT FORM IT WAS PROVIDED WITHOUT THE AUTOCOPY SYSTEM (1 COPY FOR THE BRAZILIAN CUSTOMER AGENCY, 1 COPY FOR CUSTOMER, 1 COPY FOR HOTEL) WHICH PROVES THAT THE HOTEL DID NOT WANT TO FOLLOW STRICTLY BRAZILIAN LAW. AS A PLATINUM CUSTOMER FROM ACCOR (3…9562), I'VE NEVER ENCOUNTERED IN THE PAST YEARS AT ANY ACCOR HOTEL SO MANY ISSUES DURING THE SAME STAY AND COMPLETELY UNWILLINGNESS TO HELP. I THEREFORE ASK FOR A REFUND OF THE 75USD ON MY CARD ENDING IN 1002. I WILL ALSO BE REPORTING THIS TO ACCOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. BEST REGARDS, TEODORO

The hotel is awesome with great premises and an extremely attentive crew! The only problem I had was too much noise at night coming from the swimming pool into room 705 on Saturday night.

« Just the best. »

One of the best hotel stays I've had. We were greeted with ice cream and water, the decor was beautiful, and staff were friendly and welcoming. The view over Copacabana from the bar pool was stunning, with great cocktails to boot. For those with late flights out, the gym has showers. And the location was perfect to walk everywhere, right in between Ipanema and Copacabana. We didn't want to leave.

I was given a room for disabled guests, which is ok since this was a complimentary invitation. Very grateful for having me. I would have loved to see other rooms so I could see the differences. I trust that the front view rooms are very suitable for our clients. I realize the hotel is still adjusting internal processes and I trust the service will be soon at a top level. I had a couple of inconvenient situations but I understand it's due to the recent operation of this beautiful hotel. Location and views from common areas are exceptional. Overall a very comfortable stay. I will definitely include it in our list of recommendations.

We stayed at the hotel for the final part of our Honeymoon in Brazil and what a finale! We were warmly welcomed by doorstaff and receptionists and the standard of the hotel was immediately obvious. On the ground floor there is a cafe and concept store which are really well designed...The reception area on the 6th floor has 2 beautiful pool areas on either side of a large and very stylish lounge..I wanted all the furniture for my home ;) The bedrooms are not huge but are very well designed and well equipped; you wanted for nothing. The mini bar was well stocked and there was a new digital TV which gave us access to hotel services, movies, YouTube etc. There were plenty of English language options available. I was left a cake congratulating me on my marriage which was a really lovley touch! The food was exceptional. I have stayed in many lovely hotels, but this breakfast was 2nd to none in range and quality. We ate at the restaurant for lunch and I was impressed with the choice for vegetarians, my husband and I really enjoyed everything we ate here, very high standard of ingredients and presentation. The pool bar played really cool, chilled music in the evening and we had drinks there each evening. The absolute stand out of the experience was the staff. Whoever did the recruitment for staff should be very proud of themselves...what a lovely group of people who are not only exceptional at their roles, but interesting and engaging people. Absolute pleasure to be around.(especially big thanks to the evening poolbar staff!) Thanks for making our honeymoon so special

The location and rooms are great. The pool and restaurant spectacular. Room needed milk for the coffee and the terrace door was a bit broken. But service and the concierge was first class. Will return next week (literally).

Loved the new rooms and decor. Staff was very helpful from check in, Silvo (helped us w baggage), pool and beach service, especially enjoyed the gelato stand outside! Some issues w room (plumbing/lights), but they were addressed promptly.
