Stayed 5 days with two children and the staff were lovely, helpful, informative of the local activities and things do to around the are. We will absolutely be staying there next time we are back for a holiday.

service level did vary from person to another as it was no clear standards, negatives did overcome the positives and although some of the service desk staff did exceptionally well, other have failed to impress. suggest to review the following 1- Bar opening hrs in particular on the weekends 2- provide complementary razor / shaving cream when guests do ask for one and not to tell them it is a chargeable item 3- improve house keeping service to ensue cups and cutlery are washed and room vacuum done properly 4- train staff members on how to program access cards as they have failed to do so three times On the positive side, some of the staff members did assist in providing help with direction and information re activities also did provide additional toiletry items when we were in need of them, so thank you and well done to them

« Everything you could want under one roof »

On arrival the reception staff member was warm and friendly and my room was nice and warm although quite a way from reception. I was worried about the distance from town but didn't need to as there was a bar and restaurant on site. The food I ordered was delicious and I was served by a wonderful friendly waitress as was the man behind the bar upstairs. The sauna was a bonus and a great way to relax at the end of the day. I will definitely stay again.

« Picture Perfect. Great Staff...many band-aids...WHERE ARE THE LOCAL STAFF? »

I admire the Accor initiative to be more eco friendly...HOWEVER...it defies logic to have arguably the best view in Queenstown, furnished with floor to ceiling views overlooking the Lake...with single glazed 3-4mm windows....The heating bills alone would pay for double glazing in a heart beat. Bandaid solutions are not going to help and a discerning travelling public are now looking for this corporate social responsibility. On with the hotel, impractical use of a large room size, mismatched chairs, no storage drawers, (short stay guests only?) single lamp on one side of a king size bed, dirty windows, tiny shower (watch out if you are over 6ft tall). Thin walls make it interesting if you have noisy neighbours. It really is a 3 star property with 5 star location and staff. It could be so much more. As with most thing ZQN these days (I've been visiting for 15 years - 4th x 2+ nights stay)...WHERE ARE THE KIWIS? I miss the local knowledge and hospitality. It is now all backpacker and short stay workers which (IMO) has diluted the overall visitor experience and community spirit. Used to be a diamond...now just a Cubic zirconia.

Our overall experience was well beyond expectation. The room we stayed was very quite and well presented. Love the brand new bathroom, TV with Bose sound bar and all other furniture. The nespresso machine is definitely a plus as both me and my partner drink nespresso everyday at home and work. I'd recommend Mercure to my friends and family for sure.

Check in was excellent, stay was good although there was always a wait at the bar for a drink with only one barman on at busy times. We got a big shock at check-out when breakfasts were not included in the room rate, although on website when purchasing breakfast was included (I didn't print out the appropriate confirmation) and also they used our free night when I selected I didn't want to use it during our stay.
