Nice room, gym was good with a great view, had dinner once and breakfast once. Dinner took ages to arrive but team offered us a free drink for the extra wait. Breakfast was ok.

« Excellent stay in Queenstown »

We loved the room, its space, cleanliness and view of the lake. The restaurant views were exactly what they looked like in pictures, food was amazing. Staff were superb! Our only critical feedback is a heated outdoor pool. We would have loved to swim but the weather wasn't warm enough for us to enjoy it, and being in Queenstown which isn't hot year round if the pool was heated that would have been much appreciated for the money we paid to stay.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was very comfortable as was the bed. The views were very good and the location was very handy to town. We used the spa but were a little disappointed the swimming pool was not heated.

« Fantastic view of the lake »

Overall we really enjoyed our stay. The room was fantastic, with a stunning view of the lake. A lake view room is a must at this hotel. We were lucky with parking, being able to park in the relatively small car park (for the size of the hotel) every time. The hotel is a bit out of town and it takes about 25 / 30 minutes to walk to the centre. Very steep hill coming back, so you need to be relatively fit to walk, although the public bus (no 1) runs every 15 minutes right near the hotel. The hotel restaurant wasn’t over priced either.

The view was spectacular. The service was good. The safe in our room wasn't working. It was locked with someone else's pin, and we couldn't close it. Someone should have checked that. We ended up using the safe in our parents' room next door. It wasn't a big deal, but it could be done better.

« A very pleasant stay. »

We debated whether we would stay here as we normally frequent the Sofitel brand. We chose the Mecure because of the wonderful views and we are glad we did. Not only were the views great but the very friendly and helpful staff made our stay even more enjoyable. It is not a luxury hotel and is dated in many ways but that was minor in our eyes. Special mention to Arush who organised our many day trips and also Hayley, Maddison, Danesh, Bessie and Fou - all were outstanding.

Lovely room and great view. Disappointed with restaurant, . Breakfast bacon and fried eggs very over cooked, more or less uneatable. Dinner waited over an hour for food to arrive at table. It was cold when it arrived and had obviously been sat waiting for server to deliver. Being an Accor member we have dined at numerous hotel restaurants and this is the most disappointing one to date.
