Check in with Adam was excellent. We were asked if we would like a ground floor or 1st floor room. Were given room 31 on the ground floor. Location was good but the room smelt musty and the carpet was filthy.

« Ibis tainted our weekend break »

Hard to find using post code in nav. On arrival I was told I had not paid.I argued I had as after inputting my credit card details and printing a document which said nothing to pay at hotel, I assumed I had paid. Feeling a little embarrassed and confused I was told to check my credit card statement. So I promptly used my phone went online and couldn't find any charges. After paying, we went to a freezing cold room which took over 4 hours to heat up after switching on the heater, which incidentally didn't work when first switched on as it was also turned off at the mains switch under the worktop.The shower didn't work very well I guess due to low water pressure. Then the breakfast fiasco, I was told I had only paid for one and would have to pay for another. I have no idea how you can book a room for 2 including breakfast and only get 1. Well after producing my printout again which stated super saver deal 1 room,2 adults, breakfast included, we were grudgingly allowed in only to find no bacon, sausages, eggs or mushrooms, only tomatoes! We had to wait for some 15 minutes before anything was replenished.Only for these items to run out again immediately, which wasn't surprising when they came out with only 4 sausages at a time. Other guests also complained there were no cooked items on a few other occasions whilst we were sat eating our breakfast. It was a cheap offer, so glad we did not pay full price for a really poor service!

« Not without isues »

On arrival had argument I hadn't paid. My paperwork said paid nothing to pay at hotel. So I had to check my c/card stmt to see if I had or not as it was I hadn't. Room freezing cold on turning the heater on it didn't work it was switched off from the mains socket under the worktop. When it came to breakfast another argument I had only paid for 1, yet my paperwork said super saver deal 1 room 2 adults including breakfast. After being allowed breakfast for 2 there was nothing in the cooked section apart from tomatoes. Had to wait for all other items to be replenished when the sausages came out there were 4 between several guests who were waiting. Whilst eating my breakfast guests were continually finding no sausages, bacon, eggs, mushrooms and had to ask for more. Also my sat nav took us to the wrong part of leaf lane, so make sure you research this before travelling just in case you get lost.

This place really needs knocking down and rebuilding, it is not up to the usual Ibis standard and never will be due to its design. The walls are paper thin which means lots of interesting noises, to say the least, from bedrooms to the side, above and below.

Dirty carpets, chips and stains on bathroom furniture, no heating,TV not working. When I mentioned these in the morning when I left almost felt like I was being chastised for not reporting the matter earlier.

As might be expected from an Ibis the hotel was pretty plain in its facilities. Nevertheless it had everything that was needed for a one night stay. What raised the experience was the staff. Their helpfulness and attention made our stay.

« Hotel OK but, »

Having stayed in several Accor hotels in France and England, this was the most disappointing to date. The staff were all very helpful and we have no criticism of any of them. But, the room was bitterly cold - even with the heating on full - and, more importantly, the room had been arranged in such a way that it was possible to access the bed from only one side; the other side was tight up against the wall, and there did not seem to be any reason for that arrangement.

The staff were very helpful and the food (breakfast and evening pizza) good. Dining area and lounge pleasant. Room was in need of redecorating and quite cold. For a budget hotel, it was adequate.

Both at check in and at breakfast staff were welcoming and helpful. No specifically vegetarian option at breakast The disabled car parking spaces need more clearly marking. Arriving during some very wet weather in the dark meant that we did not see any of the warnings.

« One night business stay »

Well situated for Coventry centre, if driving. Although near major A roads, it is in a quiet area just off. You can hear a pin drop at night so very good for a peaceful night's sleep. Very well sized free car park. Early style IBIS in need of some refurbishment. My room had an outside wall with very early signs of damp appearing. Room lighting poor with only one switch situated right behind entrance door!

« Budget price for a what you need »

We got a bargain room, and although the hotel a little tricky to find (postcode sent us to the other side of the canal) the room had all the basic facilities that we needed. Good bed, good shower and it was quiet. I would have liked a little brighter lighting but overall it was clean and comfortable.

The ibis is fine, but the rooms are getting a little tired. Failing to clear ice from car park or gritting is very poor and causes risk to guests and their cars. Great welcome when I arrived late to get my key.
